Former Trump National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster said on Monday’s broadcast of “CBS Mornings” that Russia and President Vladimir Putin were in “real trouble” as the invasion of Ukraine drags on.
Co-host Tony Dokoupil said, “How concerned should we be at this point that this battle is encroaching on what could be World War III territory?”

McMaster is an idiot. Russia is desperate because they are now trying to interdict our resupplying of Ukraine? What did he expect them to do, ignore it? Then he starts in with the propaganda about Russia maybe planning to use chemical/biological weapons. Give me a break.
Putin may be “done for”...or not. Only time will tell us.
McMaster has no more insight than anyone else.
Did he acknowledge his part in this mess? Without an apology to Trump and the US he needs to keep his mouth shut.

Putin has run Russia for what, effectively 3 decades or so now?
They really think three weeks of a war somehow have convinced someone in his inner circle they should take him out and make a power grab?

A lot of people we like and don’t like are talking about the Ukraine but it is undeniable that his “invasion” has not gone very well given the lack of objectives taken and frankly the ambiguity over his objectives.
Yes, Russia would crush Ukraine but their military has not looked very good so far. They appear to have used all of their “smart weapons” in the first days. Their maintenance, equipment, and logistics are all poor. They have lost the PR battle in the Ukraine, Russia, and the Western world.
By any metric this has not been a success for Putin who is in real danger domestically. Don’t forget that about 500 people in Russia own 98% of the wealth and 499 of them are probably very unhappy. Combine this fact with the current and future “purges” of their military brass and intel leaders and Putin is right to be paranoid.
This is very dangerous given that he controls about 1/3rd of the nuclear weapons on the planet and he sounds very isolated.
Time will tell. War time rumours.
