Saudi Arabia says it’s not responsible for high oil prices

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Saudi Arabia said on Monday that it “won’t bear any responsibility” for a shortage in global oil supplies after a fierce barrage of attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels affected production in the kingdom, the world’s largest oil exporter.

The unusually stark warning marked a departure from the giant oil producer’s typically cautious statements, as Saudi officials remain aware that even their smallest comments can swing the price of oil and rattle global markets.

The state-run Saudi Press Agency quoted the Saudi Foreign Ministry as saying that the kingdom “declares that it will not bear any responsibility for any shortage in oil supplies to global markets in light of the attacks on its oil facilities.”

The announcement comes as the kingdom remains in lockstep with OPEC and other oil-producing countries in a deal limiting production increases. Gulf Arab oil producers have so far resisted pressure from the Biden administration to pump more crude to help bring down oil prices that have soared amid Russia’s war on Ukraine.

The Saudis are p*ssed about any Iran deal fearing it will lead to Iran to secretly acquire nukes, so have been cozying up to Russia and China lately. They’ve just started accepting the yuan for oil, which is a very big deal. Alliances may be shifting...

They have no incentive to pump more. Biden is negotiating with their top rival Iran. They don’t like that. Iran is backing the Yemeni rebels that attacked Saudi Arabian oil facilities. Biden and his people are vocally against Saudi Arabia’s #1 export and by far biggest money maker - fossil fuels. Biden has refused to expand US energy production which only plays into Saudi Arabia’s hand.

Sure they could pump more but why would they? They need concessions from Biden. Trump knew how to broker such a deal, by promising to keep Iran in check. Biden for some reason wants to kowtow to Iran. And why? So they can have nukes, and so that they can sell their oil that Biden hates and generate cash to support their terrorist proxies?

The whole thing is upside down when it comes to Biden administration. They have no idea what they are doing, or, they are doing this for some purposes that benefit them and not American interests. I can’t explain it any other way. So no surprise from me that Saudi Arabia ain’t playin’.

Thank goodness Brandon did away with that pesky US energy independence.
All of that 'being a net exporter' business was a real hassle.

Now we can sleep easy at night knowing that the United States economy and
national security can be held hostage at any time by foreign nations and interests
that are hostile to us.

Thanks a lot Brandon - you dumb, unAmerican treasonous asshole.

So far Biden has proven to be 100% wrong in foreign policy. If someone wants to know the right thing to do in foreign policy, see what Biden wants and do the exact opposite.

Hey!! Lindsay Graham called Biden “as good a man God ever created”. He surpasses Adam and Jesus. And the Disciples.

"...Hey!! Lindsay Graham called Biden “as good a man ..."

I am not inclined to take notice of Lindsey Graham's opinion on such matters.

But perhaps I should - Mr. Graham being such an apparent 'expert' on A-Holes and all.
Or so I hear.
