“Quantity has a quality all of its own.” Stalin’s words.

Still true with Russian crap today.

The corruption in Russia has not changed since the USSR. It’s endemic at every level of governance - their DoD makes ours look pure!

The bribes involved at every transaction level would make our heads spin - and we think our corrupt government is the worst on Earth.

Sadly, even with Biteme/Heels Up in charge, our government is the best on this planet still today.

Ok, when was the last time you actually lived in Eastern Europe? How many friends do you have there?

I’m guessing zero.

When was your last firefight with Soviet soldiers?

Same. Zero.!

So many keyboard warriors, so little time.

The Soviets are no different just because they call themselves “Russians”. Same tactics on the battlefield, same results. My targets across the Fulda Gap are the same type units and vehicles that I faced in the ‘80s. We smoked them then, and would definitely send them home to their maker today should we end up fighting them today.

C Co, 2nd platoon, 2/6th Inf, Berlin Brigade, 1982-1985. (B Co 3/47 Inf, 1st Bn 502d Inf, 101st Abn Div 1985-1991)

When our F15’s went up against Soviet Migs in the Middle East, what was it something like a 110-0 score? When our Abrams went up against Soviet tanks in Desert Storm, it was another extremely lopsided turkey shoot.

Lol - I gave you all I can disclose. Where/when/if were you during this period I mentioned? I bet nowhere/nothing. We signed lifelong NDAs - if you don’t understand that you’ve proved my point.

Berlin was 110 miles inside E Germany (2/6 Inf) Lots happened there - things civilians don’t know and cannot be told.

Many things happened in Desert Storm too - you didn’t read about many battles - much less participate - still can’t disclose my unit there.

Civilians don’t get it. This war proves it daily.

Yes, their highest priority appears to be the redistribution of wealth from developed to developing countries.

I was actually discussing what you wrote with a friend. It would appear to me that nations around the world have now seen how effective US sanctions can be. Russia’s economy will be absolutely hammered by said sanctions.

What is of interest though is how these sanctions are somewhat ‘different.’ Even the Russians did not expect how massive they would be. Nations have seen how global brands have left almost overnight, how currency has been targeted, how international transfers/SWIFT no longer function, how export routes and logistics have been stymied, how products and services ranging from unhealthy burgers to taxi-and-hotel hailing apps to credit cards to mobile phones have just upped and left.

Russia’s so-called ‘fortress economy’ was made into a sandcastle in under two weeks, and future consequences to the Russian economy may be massive.

I am sure on Beijing (and even places that are not necessarily anti-American like Delhi and Brasilia) there are a lot of mental calculations happening to see how they can maintain some sort of immunity against such action. After all, it was not the typical ‘Venezuela/Iran’ sanctions they’d seen in the past. Not even the type Russia absorbed following the annexation of Crimea. Russia thought it was safe. Ha!

This was literally weaponised economics to the nth level. In its own way beautiful, but it may just have killed globalization. At the very least, it is now the number one priority of China to build measures against it.

It may be a win for Biden against Russia, but it’s a loss against China.

An Indian officer related a story about how his dad was part of a medical unit that had lifted off for an attempt to take over Diego Garcia

That Indian "officer" told you some crap and you believed it? Wow !! What were the supposed Indian Army soldiers using to get to Diego Garcia? 747s? Because the IAF had only the An-12 and C-119s at that time. With no midair refuelling capacity.

Note that India had to go to the Soviets only because Nixon wanted to get closer to China and the Pakis were the conduit. JFK had made India very grateful to the US for the help extended in getting the Chinese to withdraw in 1962. 9 years later Nixon sent in the Enterprise led fleet to threaten India.

Now China screws the US and India is dependent on the russians for arms and the UNSC veto.

What’s changed is the west. The US and most of Western Europe has subjugated property rights with “social justice”. The US & NATO haven’t stood for human freedom is a very long time.

The training and maint matters more than the platform. In Indo-Pak wars, the PAF has lost F-86s and F-104s to both Mysteres and Ajeets (The Folland Gnat converted to a light fighter by the Indian Air Force). Both Indian aircraft had much less capabilities than the F-104/F-86

You mention some losses but that is meaningless without complete statistics. On any given Sunday, a 1-14 team can beat the prior year’s Super Bowl champs, but don’t bet your lunch money for that to be a regular occurrence.

The idea that the Indians are going to side with the West against Russia is insanity.

It is very clear now that 1) India needs to make its own arms and till that time, stockpile spares 2) India needs to diversify out of US treasuries slowly but surely.(No saying when some crazy lib wants to freeze our reserves for not giving Kashmir to Pakistan). There have been some crazy people like Robin Raphael, Mad Halfbright and currently Victoria Nuland who are rabidly pro-Pakistan 3) Press for a UNSC permanent seat. Currently only China is blocking Indias application.

Even now the Indian Govt is conveying its strong opposition to Russian random bombardment on civilians. India and 12 other countries abstained on a UNSC resolution moved by Russia. Only China supported the Russians

And this is what happens when one uses your global currency as a weapon of war.

I was reading the other day, that the United States has 9,600 sanctions currently in effect around the world. That factoid shocked me.

But the sanctioned have been patient about these matters and have finally reached a point where they can snub their thumbs, in our face, as a new world order emerges from its slumber.

You see, sanctions do not work and when used to often erode global trust.

Think for a moment of the censorship, a type of sanction on free speech, what has the industrious done. Created other opportunities to get their message out. When it happened early on to say Alex Jones, many laughed. Fewer laugh today as the sanctions of censorship grow.

The sanction is the weapon of war against liberty, freedom, speech, learning, and civility. Sanctions, boycotts, censorship, doxxing, misinformation, disinformation are all tools of the left cooperate fascist state. The issue is the West does not understand that, but communists do.

Putin, a communist KGB Russian President invaded Ukraine and the West ponders his reasons. Putin is no hero, but his concerns regarding the safety and sovereignty of his people, from the fascist liberal world is no less than our own. He just has the military and is willing to fight it. No one wants fascism or communism, but that is what the world is being split into right now. And that is not so much a war of ideology as it is of commodities. A war of dictators.

In the end if Biden’s regime fails to change our energy policy the dollar will fail. Heck it is failing now as currency to be trusted. Sanctions, particularly on a nation’s oil, increased the risk of the petrodollar. This particular sanction has essentially destabilized the petrodollar. As nations look to reduce their risk in the petrodollar, they are not running to the United States to do it. They are running away. They are uncoupling from the risk. Our media has kept the American people blinded to what is happening, heck I doubt very few investors realize what has already happened.

The only way forward from here to stabilize the global economy again is perceived as a digital currency. But, many of us already realize how it will be used to wage war on the common man.

“The Petrodollar is is serious trouble.“

It’s toast! The Yuan and Ruble are now being requested as payment. Way to go Joe, you just killed the USD. Inflation is nothing yet! Go look at shadow stats for a start.

With the USD about to loose the reserve currency status of the USD, we are in trouble.
