Granholm: We Have to ‘Use’ War to Move to Clean Energy, Before War, Many of Us Hoped We’d Focus ‘Solely on Clean Energy’
Breitbart ^ | 03/31/2022 | Ian hatchett

Posted on 03/31/2022 6:39:31 PM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

On Thursday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “All In,” Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm stated that many hoped “we would be focusing solely on clean energy solutions, renewable, making that transition,” but the war in Ukraine has thrown a wrench into that and said that “we have got to use this reason to become energy independent with clean energy.”

Host Chris Hayes said that while he would probably take a similar approach to President Joe Biden because people need gas to get around and gas price increases harm people, but “At the same time, it just seems so depressingly insane that we are here in 2022 and it’s like, let’s drill baby, drill, let’s get more oil on those markets, this is the solution. And it’s like it’s always the next cigarette is the one we’re going to give up, but for now, we need to buy another carton. Why should I not be depressed by this?”

Never let a crisis go to waste. And creating a crisis comes in handy too.

There is no energy independence with "clean energy", whatever that means.

Things like solar panels have a place in certain situations. I have a bunch of them on my house -- more than just about anybody. But I'm far from energy independent (I purchased 44% of my power from the grid over the past 10 months I've had solar.)

Cheaper? Yes
Lower my power bills? Yes
Pay for itself in the end? Yes (about the 10th year)
Free me from worrying about the Democrats jacking up our energy costs? Yes, I worry about that half as much as I used to.

But that's still a long, long way from being energy independent. And I'm way more efficient with my solar power than anything the gubment does.

I think she did. It’s like the Keystone Cops in that administration. Hasn’t Biden slipped and said things like our troops will find out about Ukraine when they go there and we’ve got Kamala who can’t complete a sentence

Before she opened her mouth, many of us hoped Jennifer Granholm would make sense.

She sounds like the faculty lounge at a UofM school of social engineering, clustered around the bong.

Gawd, I am sooo happy I don’t have to listen to Ann Arbor chatter anymore. I do miss decent sushi, but not enough to go back there.

It works in the movies!!

That’s good enough for some.

"Before War, Many of Us Hoped We’d Focus ‘Solely on Clean Energy’

Is she referring to the Russian war or CW2. When as Michigan's governor, granholm finished her term and mission of blowing away the State's economy, she fled to California to bask in the glow of coastal incompetence.

If green energy was such a boon, people would be flocking to it without government’s punishing.
measures.
When the horseless carriage proved better than horse driven wagons, the government didn’t offer tax incentives to buy automobile s or tax hay to reduce horse ownership

I have nothing against solar power. I’m fact, I’m going to install panels and an inverter this fall during rainy season (better prices for the installation 😂)

It only makes sense as here in Thailand there is a ton of strong sunlight (12° North). Electric is not that expensive (about 1.3¢ per kWh) and thus my electric bill is not too bad ($40-$50 a month), but if I want to run my air conditioners all day, my electric bill would double.

Installation wouldn’t be all that expensive and the parts are dirt cheap here (about $300 for the inverter and about $100 per kw of panel).

But, and here’s the key thing, NOBODY is forcing me to do so. And that’s the right way to do it. Not the Biden agenda of destroying the country.

Hydro is a different matter altogether. In the wrong areas, hydro destroys the ecosystems not only of the flooded area above the dam but the ecology the entire way downstream. The Mekong River should be a major warning to anybody wanting to implement major hydro projects (as well as the impact of the Aswan Dam on the Nile agriculture).

I just wish nuclear would be considered as viable and that they’d put more into fusion. But they won’t.

She heads a Federal Department, nit Michigan. That was long ago. We have Whitmer who is also economically incompetent but adds soul-less totalitarian evil to her profile.
