Wednesday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) blamed oil companies for record-high gas prices across the United States.

Schakowsky argued that “Americans are suffering right now at the pump” due to oil companies raising their prices during the war in Ukraine. She also asserted the companies could be producing more oil than they currently are.

The Dems ALWAYS blame oil company “gouging” for high oil prices.

What did they blame for the low oil prices during the Trump administration?

Their repetitive “gouging” complaints are so noisome.

So many of these fools have no experience in the real world and consequently have no idea how basic economics works.

Well, it is a trait of commodity. So the price can go up or down just like stocks and precious metals when people are worried about stuff like War.

The Ill State seems to have high State fuel tax.

At 160 miles across it is pretty easy to not make a fuel stop in the State as the prices do seem high compared to neighboring States.

Wrong, you Demonic skamk! Economics 101, dumbass: Government (aka the dementia-ridden meat pupprt and his handlers) restricting the SUPPLY of a commodity through cancelled pipelines/transport mechanisms, needless regulation, cancelling leases, slow-walking drilling approvals, etc., will INCREASE the price REGARDLESS of static demand. Someone ask thsi dumb bitch if she remembers a year ago...

I’m not a fan of oil companies, but they’re supposed to give it away for cheaper when politicians stopped production?

Yep. But liberals are required to follow the following steps when there is inflation and the Democrats are in power. (Notice that fixing the problem is not one of the steps.)

Step 1: Ignore the problem.
Step 2. Blame greedy producers and greedy hoarders.
Step 3. Start talking about price controls.

Most Democrats are now at Step 2. Step 3 can’t be all that far behind. And why not? Price controls turned Venezuela into the socialist paradise it is today.

I gassed up at a Quick Trip in St. Louis the other day at $3.42 per gallon. Just across the river, in Columbia, IL, the gas price is $4.37. Why would oil companies gouge the people of Illinois and let the people of Missouri get the better deal? Could taxes have anything to do with the higher gas prices in Illinois?

Democrats should be prosecuted for tax gouging.

Schakowsky (commie-IL) There. Fixed it.

Democrats are desperate to shift the blame for high gas prices away from their own green policies. It ain’t working.

I hope the oil execs stand firm today at the congressional hearing today. They’re going to get a commie tongue lashing.

The same politicians who have brought us low flush toilets, the 55 speed limit, two weeks to flatten a curve for 2 years, election integrity fails, female swim teams with tucked rudders, Juneteenth, too big to fail fails, no budgets for 15 years, government cheese, record inflation, FBI monitored PTA meetings, Fast & Furious, war on fuels, inedible school lunches, teachers unions running the CDC, interns for perverts, de-fund police, zero bail, and on and on.......are going to lecture oil company executives about industrial processes and market driven price pressures??????

Very true. They are clueless. They seem to have a knee jerk reaction that there is some illegal gouging going on.

I expect congressional hearings, at which time they will bring in the executives of major oil companies, as they bash those executives for profiteering.
