Biden Urges Modi Not to Step Up Indian Use of Russian Oil

President Joe Biden has asked India’s Narendra Modi not to accelerate the buying of Russian oil as the U.S. and other nations try to cut off Moscow’s energy income following the invasion of Ukraine

President Joe Biden asked India's Narendra Modi on Monday not to accelerate the buying of Russian oil as the U.S. and other nations try to cut off Moscow's energy income following the invasion of Ukraine. The Indian prime minister made no public commitment to refrain from Russian oil, a source of tension with the U.S.

Meeting by video call, Biden told Modi that the U.S. could help India diversify its sources of energy, according to press secretary Jen Psaki. Even though India receives little of its oil from Russia, it stepped up recently with a major purchase as other democracies are trying to isolate Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The president also made clear that he doesn’t believe it’s in India’s interest to accelerate or increase imports of Russian energy or other commodities,” Psaki said.

Surprising that some politicians care more about their own citizens than what Biden has to say.

Things sure are a mess under that Biden fellow, aren’t they? Kamala is even a worse personality, and Hillary’s team (Klain, Blinken, Yellen, etc...) is running this clown show. Only the GOP could fail to permanently capitalize on this mess.

Considering the inflation the Dems released across the world, why wouldn’t India continue buying discounted Russian oil? Unless Biden wants to make up the difference India should tell him to MYOB. Let’s see if Biden has the balls to sanction both India and China over this, that should be interesting.

He couldn’t remember PM Morrison’s name, he couldn’t remember the name of the Pentagon (”that outfit over there”), how on earth would he know that Modi is PM of India?

Indians now control virtually all of U.S. Big Tech(*); India is a nuclear power; and has a rapidly building military, cooperating with both Russia and Israel. There is no threat Biden can make to scare them.

Trump just said "let's be friends and work against China. Modi was down with that, but of course Joe, James and Hunter are pain in Yuan, so...

(*) Twitter, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Adobe, Mastercard, Micron, and more -- all have Indian-born CEOs

India has a spacecraft currently orbiting Mars.

Where is France’s? Or Germany’s? Or the UK’s? Or other countries that consider India technologically primitive.

The US could easily address this by placing large numbers of H1B visas under “review.” But the big tech pay masters wouldn’t like that.

The president also made clear that he doesn’t believe it’s in India’s interest ...

Modi should pay attention, as we all know bidEn is the world's renowned expert on Indian self-interests.
