WASHINGTON (AP) — Western weaponry pouring into Ukraine helped blunt Russia’s initial offensive and seems certain to play a central role in the approaching, potentially decisive, battle for Ukraine’s contested Donbas region. Yet the Russian military is making little headway halting what has become a historic arms express.The U.S. numbers alone are mounting: more than 12,000 weapons designed to defeat armored vehicles, some 1,400 shoulder-fired Stinger missiles to shoot down aircraft and more than 50 million rounds of ammunition, among many other things. Dozens of other nations are adding to the totals.
The Biden administration is preparing yet another, more diverse, package of military support possibly totaling $750 million to be announced in the coming days, a senior U.S. defense official said Tuesday.

The US, the USSR and any other “player” in the cold war hid behind the unfortunate people of a dozen countries. (Vietnam, Korea, etc.) That’s because two nuclear armed opponents are really pushing the envelope towards a nuclear exchange if they engage directly. Imagine if Jefferson Davis and Abraham Lincoln had nuclear weapons. It would be criminal to continue suffering loses and not use them. Now imagine that Britain and France at the time of the Civil War were nuclear armed and each was supporting a side. Would they risk using nuclear weapons on each other or just hide behind the Americans to fight their war?

This argument has already been made and shot down by noting how the U.S. would respond to Mexico if the Mexican government was a puppet of the Chinese (or Russians) and, China (or Russia) was arming the Mexicans and, the Chinese (or Russians) had plans to stage a coup in the U.S.
Funny, we may already have had a coup in the U.S. in 2020 using mail-in ballots instead of guns.
