He comes off as one of those people that always consider themselves to be the smartest person in the room. That can be apt to lead to doing what he thinks is best for the people rather than what the people want. Well, I lived in the same town as Vance in the 70’s, and you can take it from me, Middletown OH was definitely full of backwoods idiots. Most of them were not nice enough to respect, and didn’t possess any other talents.
Not that the upper crust in that town was any better.
None of them ever had anything good to say about anyone from outside their group. I left in 1981 and never came back except to visit my parents.

I’ve seen some pro and anti thoughts on Vance.
I do not know anything about him, but Trump’s comments
seemed to cover a number of bases.

I support Trump, so I’ll probably wind up supporting

Of the Ohio candidates I’ve seen, Vance is the one I like best.

Don’t even get me started about high school basketball in that weird town.
But at least back then, there were plenty of factories in Middletown that provided decently-paid work to the hillbillies, briars, and rednecks. Those factories probably closed before JD was ever born.
