Ed Markey: ‘Algorithmic Justice’ Demands Elon Musk Twitter Bid Is Stopped
Breitbart ^ | 04/27/2022 | Simon Kent

Posted on 04/27/2022 7:02:22 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) condemned Elon Musk’s $44 billion bid for Twitter on Tuesday night, citing the obscure cause of “algorithmic justice” as the basis for his objection.

Markey outlined his argument on – ironically enough – Twitter itself.

When you have come straight out and said the Twitter algorithm is going to be put in the public domain, thus lifting the veil of how does it work, that’s as justice as you can possibly get.

Mr. Frosty neighborhood ice cream truck driver becomes multi millionaire after being elected to Congress, then the Senate.

Real Justice would put this crook behind bars.

"justice" is leftist dog whistle encoding and concealing intentional discrimination. "justice" has a lot of baggage, and in colloquial tongue it ranges in concept from vindication to revenge. It's use is ironically appropriate, because When leftists append it to another word, it is commonly used to justify the deliberate punitive targeting of individuals and groups.

Excellent question. Give Musk some time to open Twitter to the public.

For starters: I read yesterday that after Musk acquired Twitter, the “followers counts” for leftist dropped by thousands while the “followers counts” for conservatives increased by the same or similar amounts.

I presume that the more followers you have the more “the algorithm” will give you more credibility and your posts will have a higher weighting than others. Plus, the fewer followers means that your posts will not be spread as widely.

The algorithm is probably more complicated than that but this is a start.

algorithmic justice (ie. free speech) was why Musk bought Twitter in the first place.

Of course. But as with virtually everything the left says, it is a lie. They do not want "justice" in this regard (or any other regard). They want their continued bias on that and other platforms.

I leftist's idea of "justice" is everyone doing what the leftist wants them to do, seeing only the information the leftist wants them to see.

You know the clown biden will issue an EO to block this. Then we watch how the clown courts take 2 years to strike the EO down.

Do NOT think Trump said “because Musk is buying Twitter”.

Don’t know if those 2 men have ever met face to face. I think they would like each other—on many levels.

I think Trump is happy with Truth Social.

It’s a complex computer code that does one thing well: disappears all conservative articles and comments.

That’s exactly what I was trying to say, so long as Twitter stayed under the current management there was no way Trump was going to be allowed back.

Since Musk is buying Twitter, the obvious question is would Trump go back to Twitter, he said no, Trump has Truth Social and doesn’t want to compete with a social media site he has a financial interest in.

“I didn’t know Ed Markey was still alive until now.”

Physically he is. But from his statements, he’s cognitively and intellectually challenged enough to the point where he may as well be dead.

We must pass laws to protect privacy and promote algorithmic justice for internet users, especially for kids.

Any reason they can dream up, like Markey just declared.

It doesn’t matter if the reason is valid or not, the point is the liberals can’t stand Twitter going to a free speech model, they are not going to roll over and allow it to happen, this isn’t the last we’ve heard of some attempt to stop the sale.

I doubt it will succeed but don’t discount it.
