Biden’s new Ministry of Truth is exactly why we need a Convention of States ASAP
Convention of States Action ^ | May 2nd 2022 | Silence Dogood

It’s so dystopian it seems like a movie, but it unfortunately is not.

The Department of Homeland Security announced just last week that it is creating a Committee of Public Information to combat disinformation, headed by the self-proclaimed Russian disinformation expert, Nina Jankowicz.

That’s right. The Ministry of Truth from George Orwell’s 1984 is becoming reality nearly 40 years after the fictional story’s set time frame. Taxpayers are now funding the government to monitor what information is accessible to us online and what is deemed trustworthy and accurate news.

We no longer need to think, right?

Apparently, the people in the federal government think that middle America still trusts in them – that has certainly changed.

The committee has been dubbed the Disinformation Governance Board and has received plenty of heat since it was first announced, especially for making far-leftist Nina Jankowicz in charge.

We already know the media, government and politicians will all contort anything to fit the narrative they are pushing, which is why independent research is a necessity. Yet critical thinking has never been more discouraged.

Why would any sane person decide to put all of their trust into these corrupt sources instead of being a self-governing, free-thinking individual? Knowledge is key to a free society, and controlling the people’s access to information allows the government to control what we believe and how we respond.

We’re living in a strange time when the federal government is attempting to gain control over as many people as possible through controlled media, but a Convention of States can help fight this absurdity.

Using Article V of the Constitution, the states can come together and limit the federal government’s overall power so that our information is not filtered through the State Department’s overreaching power. Censorship has no place in America.

Agree. In Washington DC the deck is thoroughly stacked against normal Americans. I can’t think of a single major institution that hasn’t been corrupted and turned against patriots.

*we should extend the invitation to counties in Canada and Mexico as well. Heck, the New America could extend to Greenland and Siberia.*

The Mongol Empire was too vast to administer. Would the internet work? We’d have to outlaw socialism. That would mean no voting rights for many or they could move to a blue county. One county will have to be used for penal colony purposes. No messing around. Gotta be strict. Still we’d need 2 parties. One conservative and the other libertarian. I’m sure the world would join in.

Why do we need to take on the whole Mongol empire? Even 1/3 of it would make for vast acreages available to illegal aliens and colonizers and whomever wanted to take advantage of the New Homesteader Act. Trump wanted to buy Greenland, let’s buy Greenland as well. Within 50 years, both areas of land will have gigantic areas of tilled land and productivity.

Too late any convention today will be declared an insurrection.

I would love to see my country be a place of harmony with all 50 states intact-but it hasn’t been that way since I was born, according to my mom-and frankly, I’m tired of listening to the whining and putting up with the crap of blue state communists/liberals-a convention would not stop that, and I actually don’t think they belong in the same country with conservatives-all they do is create a minority slave class to serve at their dinners, vote for them, mow the yard, clean the pool-and pay them with our money, get into stupid conflicts, and spend everyone else’s money.

So I agree-let’s split it, and let the blue states go their own way-let the liberals in the red states switch places with the conservatives in blue ones, and then make the democrat party illegal in the red states-maybe have the rinos be the new democrats, since they seem closer to them anyway.

Very bad plan. The Left would take the opportunity to enshrine every item on their wish list into the Constitution.

They already are through EO's and corrupt courts, they don't need no stinking constitution they have judges.

This is why, in addition to winning control of the House and Senate, it is equally vital that we also make significant gains in state legislatures.

Exactly! I have NO faith in our supposedly brilliant conservative Representatives or lawyers. This thing would be hijacked in 10 minutes with the help of Pravada2 and any country who wants to bring us down..and there are a multitude. Huge mistake.

People that actually trust their fellow citizens or current crop of “leaders” in this nation enough to allow them to have this kind of power to change our Constitution; frankly are nuts!

If not now, when?

Maybe when they run a finely tuned economy into the ground? Maybe when they flood the country with illegal aliens and pretend that they are normal taxpaying citizens? Maybe when they make a mockery out of national security? Maybe when they piss on the graves of millions of patriots who gave lives and limbs in past wars to insure our national security? Maybe when they finally tax tea! If not now, when?

There's no point. The First Amendment is already on the books. What are ya gonna do, legislate HARDER? They'll just ignore it harder.

Scotus regularly amends the Constitution.

It appears that this suits you.

By your logic a Convention of the States can do no harm.

By my logic it can do no good.

And things could go sideways, and there would be the harm.

What good will that do? It is already unconstitutional on its very face. They ignore the constitution now, what makes you think they wouldn’t ignore a changed one?

Wow. That’s a real jump there.
How exactly have I stated that the SCOTUS can amend the Constitution?
Grow up.

“A COS is an end run, a flanking movement against the Deep State that we so desperately need.”

Horse manure. COS has all the answers including the idea that nothing can go wrong and the rest of us are supposed to join the insanity because nothing can go wrong.

they have judges.

...and the media.

All the more reason to avoid what proponents of a COS aren’t able to process. They are too busy telling the rest of us “nothing can go wrong”.
