The Kentucky couple who came under fire for allowing their 6-year-old son to run in the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati have revealed that they were visited by Child Protective Services.
Ben and Kami Crawford, of Bellevue, shared a photo on Instagram of an official interviewing Rainier, “who adamantly decided that he wanted to run a marathon.”
In the caption, they wrote that Child Protective Services arrived at their home unannounced on Friday “and interviewed our children because leaders in the community are calling running with children wrong.”

You get arrested for letting your kids walk to school. What next? They take the kids away if you refuse to use the “right” pronouns? wait! they already do that!
“...running with children wrong...”
Thr gov’t claims that they are not your kids. “You didn’t make those.....”
what if he decides he wants to drive a schoolbus?? will they let him?
I don’t think SS should have been called, just the “emphatically wanted to run a marathon” from a 6 year old is a bit much.
Kentucky has an odious Democrat for a governor. All the cr@p flows downstream from that.
As a kid in grade school I, along with several friends, would walk the 25 mile Walk For Mankind. After getting pledges of donations from friends, family and neighbors (sometimes as little as .25 cents per mile walked), we happily walked all around our town, getting our little booklets stamped at the rest stops, making a day of being outside with each other, laughing and horsing around. Great times. So it’s sad to see how stupid some people in this country have become.
As they said, in the article, last year two of their other children ran without their parents.
It apparently is a family activity that they do for fun.
But if they encouraged him to be a girl, and mutilated his body, they’d be heroes.
Can’t have kids who insist on physical fitness
fat and stupid is how progressive government wants to raise children.
What is your beef? If they were there and he got tired they could pull him out. Where is the harm?
I don’t think allowing him to run is bad...But I’d question running a full marathon....
^ years old is too young to recognize dehydration, heat stroke, etc...
In my experience, when a kid says he will be
“running” a long distance race it means he will run, walk, trot, wander around, eventually get there, unless he gets bored first and quits. If he is “running” with an adult, it may be a little more organized but still.. nothing to get upset about.
“So it’s sad to see how stupid some people in this country have become.”
Not stupid at all. It’s calculated.
You want to talk to my kid you better have a court order and go through my lawyer otherwise you’re trespassing.
If CPS came to my door with this nonsense, I would be in total disbelief. Wouldn’t know what to say.
Then I would come to my senses, load the 12g with rock salt, and begin to “escort” them off the property.

I’m sorry, but you’re an idiot if you allow a six-year-old to run a marathon. Parents and race officials. End of story.
Mom: "Go ask your teacher!"
Shut down this dangerous website! => https://marathonkids.org/
Every marathon runner I know(non professionals) is weak, skinny fat, and has a bunch of URIs every year.
Play sports. When he’s 13-15 start lifting and continue playing sports.
When older, add in yoga.
