Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an address released Sunday that Russian troops are at a “dead end” and “victory is beginning” for his nation.

“The 81st day of our defense is coming to an end and another week of round-the-clock work for Ukraine and victory is beginning,” said at the opening of his remarks.

I’m sure now he’ll be asking for $100 billion to finish the job!

He may not need it anymore, but the grifters in DC need the laundry done.

So a country with tactical nucs is going to just say, “ok I’ll go back home now, sorry for attacking you.”

"We see that you promised a $40 billion "investment" in "freedom" (from things like an opposition party or anti-government speech) and we want to help you help yourself by helping us."

"If you go to your bank and get a debit card for $40 billion, then call this number back and read me the card numbers we can charge this all up quickly."

"And if you don't, I guess that means you support Putin, Russia and genocide. You don't support genocide do you?"

“Ukrainians are very brave with my money”

I’m sure as the bullets fly over their heads the main concern of a Ukrainian soldier is that he might waste the $100 you as a taxpayer has sent.

Wars have a burn rate. The war continues whether you are winning or losing. And as long as the war goes on, so does the need for money. As in, for instance, the Soviet Union the day after the start of operation Uranus, which cut off Stalingrad. I suppose Roosevelt should have told Stalin the day after “You’re winning now. So we are ending Lend Lease”.

This is, btw, one of the dumber arguments on these subjects. It comes from either silly snark, which is unworthy, or from profound stupidity.

They did that in Afghanistan.
And so did the US in Afghanistan (the US also has tactical nukes).

LOL, I was thinking the same. I think he’ll get more honest once Congress approves the money.

I really don’t think the Russians will cross that bridge.

After Hiroshima and Nagasaki, world history has laid the “crime” of nuclear genocide on the USA. I’m sure some would like to see that transfer to Russia...

But it would be the biggest event in world history this decade and maybe century... So far.

The outrage all over the world would destroy whatever image Russia had. I think they do care about that. It’s part of the Russian psychology of paranoia about other countries. They really care about their image.

But beyond that, Russia has already gained control of Luhansk and Donetsk. They also have the land bridge to Crimea and the Azov Sea area.

They no longer need to “invade” but rather just hang on.
I don’t think the Ukrainians can take it from them, so it is a stalemate with Russia controlling what they wanted to in the first place.

It appears Ukraine is close to cutting off the land supply routes to the Russian forces in the Donbas.

That may make a difference.

Yes, I don’t get the notion that Ukraine can defeat Russia.

Close...:-)

Our source in the OP said that the Office of the President made calculations to stabilize the economy of Ukraine, based on the track of a protracted war that will last 2-3 years. To carry out all social programs and maintain the army, we will need 120-150 billion dollars, which we expect to receive from the West.

Ukraine is punching way above her weight, and Russia way below.

I don’t trust the reported causality rates for a number a reasons, but by most measures Russia’s burn rate is nuts.

And for those who keep saying that it is Ukraine’s fault for fighting back... Do say the same to a rape victim? “It would have been better for you in the long run to just let it happen!”

Ukraine is not alone. It has the entire weight of NATO and the Global Reset crowd behind it. The Ukraine troops and citizens are just the foot soldiers in this period of the war. Whoever is taking the slings and arrows for the Great Reset will move around. Eventually, it will be the US military and people's turn at taking one for the cause.

Sounds like a decent plan. You should submit it to the management. Although, expectation of apology in this case is unrealistic.
