$180 upstate NY, and that price is up from pre-covid levels. That’s for top shelf stuff. I noticed the last few years more of the street stuff is in retail packaging, smuggled in from Cali & WA, so there must be an oversupply, which should eventually bring down the price. I think recreational cannabis becomes legal to sell here around the first of the year.

Ignorant comment, cannabis is being shown in studies to improve brain function in older adults and possibly ward off Alzheimer’s among other things.

Cannabidiol reduces Aβ-induced neuroinflammation and promotes hippocampal neurogenesis through PPARγ involvement

Ok, so for the typical kid getting high multiplies per day, what qty do they consume, 1/2 an oz per week, assuming a good grade like that?

I have no clue from my time over 4 decades ago and it probably is different with todays more potent strains.

Just as there’s a big difference in having 3 beers or 3 sixpacks, the dosage also matters, and I assume older folks probably consume less. I’ve cut my consumption from an oz a month to half that, mostly to relax in the evenings and help me sleep. It’s healthier than alcohol which I gave up 10 years ago. But probably not so good for young people as it stunts the brain’s white matter growth, which continues to develop until 25.

Example in DC (delivery)
Pugs Breath
1/8oz. $65
1/4oz. $130
1/2oz. $225
1oz. $400
Pugs Breath is an Indica dominant hybrid strain (80% Indica / 20% Sativa) crosses Mendobreath F2 Ultra Violett and Mendobreath F2 Studly Spewright. Producing a happy yet sleepy effect. This earthy and berry-toned tasting flower will give users that very classic and sought-after Indica high.

Yeah I imagine buying from government regulated stores will be more expensive. I know quite a few young people who get it for me so I never deal directly with ‘dealers’, but the more connected you are the better the price.

DC delivery is not Government. You buy a sticker for $80 and you get free weed. But imagine my shock when I discovered DC screwed up the legalization of weed.

The government always screws up everything. The legal outlets will cater to the more well off, but the average person who consumes it will probably continue getting it on the black market where prices will be lower.

Everything I know is from the growing side. It’s a plant with almost no known pests. All you have to do is grow it. My son’s emus would eat the hemp plants but they were caged. He brought his cat when he moved home and she eats it so she stays inside. But all we have to do is specialized feeding, max sun, topping, cloning and stressing at harvest to boost the THC. The last thing it gets is a molasses feed, cut the roots and put it in the garage for a week before pulling the buds.
My goal is to create an Indica-ish strain that is just for sleep but I would have to convert to oil or butter for edibles because I can’t/won’t smoke it. `
