Alameda County, the San Francisco Bay Area’s second-most populous county, reinstated on Friday a mask mandate in most indoor spaces, which it had dropped in February.
Officials cited growing hospitalizations in Alameda, whose county seat is Oakland, which are up about 35 percent over the last two weeks to a daily average of 129, as of Thursday, according to federal data. Nationally, about 28,000 people were currently in hospitals with the coronavirus, an increase of 17 percent over the last two weeks.
Alameda is the first county in California, and the largest jurisdiction in the United States, to issue a universal indoor mask order since the end of the winter Omicron surge.

Every morning at breakfast, I watched in astonishment as the TV constantly blared the most crass leftist propaganda and most of the people present sat like drug-dazed automatons receiving a morning fix.
It was frightening.
The TV propaganda was all dire, pessimistic, terrifying. The TV "reporters" seemed to believe the depressing, pessimistic propaganda they were spewing forth. Whether by design--or more likely by ignorance--the relentless reports seemed designed to instill fear--even panic--in the viewers. It appeared to succeed at this.
The people I talked with have serious problems with anxiety. I can understand why. They constantly subject themselves to a barrage of frightening propaganda. Many seem to believe it. Many are on anti-anxiety medication, even children.
I was thinking, only half-jokingly: I'd be on anti-anxiety medication myself if I stayed here long enough!
The day I left, a lovely, kind woman asked if I were anxious about my departing flight. I explained that I dreaded the cramped air plane accommodations, difficult schedules, crowded terminals, etc. She asked if I would like a few Xanex to relieve my anxiety. "Oh no," I replied, "I'm not particularly anxious--just slightly dreading a tiring flight."
Actually, I was horrified at the thought of her casually offering a highly addictive drug--or any drug--to remedy perceived anxiety, which was in fact essentially non-existent.
Everybody seemed to be on the brink of panic. Children were chronically afraid.
One of the worst things the evil Democrat Party and its minions have brought about is this fear and anxiety--but it obviously serves the evil purposes of those who control them.
Not long ago, the attitude all over America was "can-do"--"good old American know-how!" This is the spirit that destroyed the evil Nazi regime in Germany and won the Cold War--which cured polio and created the miracle of flight--that made the USA the greatest, most just, most prosperous, most powerful nation in the history of the world.
What a contrast between
the USA that had to send her sons to war across in both Asia and Europe, at the same time, but proceeded with courage, optimism, and faith in both God and the righteousness of the nation they were preserving anda nation trembling before such imaginary threats as "global warming," "the corona virus," "monkey pox," and "the inherent racism of the American People," and succumbing to such evils as drug abuse, open borders, infanticide, reparations, defunding the police, excusing massive election fraud, political prosecution, and corruption at all levels of the Federal Government--Congress, the Presidency, and the judiciary--and America's once-pristine and revered agencies and institutions!
Let us be the antithesis by displaying courage and faith and confidence.

I suspect that will not happen. While there are still plenty of virtue signaling, mask wearing liberal jackasses walking around LA, most of us have had enough and will not comply. The LA city and county government are well aware of this and won’t tempt fate by mandating masks.
A reliable indicator of this is the LA Metro system employees are no longer wearing masks or requiring passengers to do the wear them either, despite the pre-recorded message on the Meteo Link constantly reminding passengers “Federal Law requires all passengers to wear masks while riding the Meteo System.”
The government knows it lost the battle when their own union employees refuse to comply.
