Uvalde school district police Chief Pete Arredondo, who was in charge during the May 24 mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, offered up the explanation in a new interview with the Texas Tribune where he defended law enforcement’s delayed response in taking down 18-year-old shooter Salvador Ramos.

The door to the classroom that Ramos was in had a steel jamb and could not be kicked in, Arredondo told the paper. He spent more than an hour in the hallway trying dozens of keys.
“Each time I tried a key I was just praying,” Arredondo told the Texas Tribune.

In the first 40 minutes, Arredondo says he was waiting to receive the set of keys.

Praying for what? That the key 🔑 would work, or that it would not work?
An elite team that couldn’t be deployed against a single transgender in a skirt. Pretty impressive.
The reported lapsed time between arrival and the door breach was 78 minutes, but this guy claims 40 minute wait for keys, and more than an hour of trying keys?
He’s forgetting the first rule of holes.

Trying different keys? Most schools have one master key for all doors.

When else do you hear about cops waiting for keys to open a door. Never. Does not happen.
A parent would have found a way into those classrooms, if only the police had let them anywhere near the building.
Takes only a minute to get the right key, not buying 40.
Children were being evacuated from windows of other classrooms.
But it never occurred to these guys to go through a window to stop the shooter?

Total nonsense. He was a deer in the headlights. They could have shot through a window. They could have driven a vehicle into the door. Trust me, I've had more than a dozen burglaries at our farm. I've seen the idiots bust every type of door. Even using hydraulic tools like they use in body work or to extract people from an accident. push door jambs apart and the latch does not work.
The solution? Arm some of the teachers. Those who have prior experience with firearms and can work normally without showing they are prepared.
The School Police Chief, is worse than a rent-a-cop. Some of the security guards have military experience and know how to handle a crisis.
When seconds matter, the police are minutes away. And when they get there they hide behind their cars and wait for reinforcements while kids die.
This is twice now. Can we stop with the ‘hero’ crap.

Besides the chief’s pensiveness to be aggressive with george floyd or a twayvon mautin like incidences is just another feather in the cap of the liberals in this country who revel when this kind of crime occurs and want to use such event to push their agenda to the extent of condoning lax law and justice and administration and suppressing effective police work to maximize agenda mileage.
