The FBI raid on former President Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago has energized independent and Republican voters, a new Trafalgar Group/Convention of States Action survey shows.
Asked whether the “FBI raid on President Trump” increased motivation to vote in the 2022 midterm elections, 70 percent of likely general election voters said yes. Among Republicans, 83.3 percent said the raid motivated them to turn out on Election Day, while 71.7 percent of independent voters said the same.
Respondents were also asked who they believed to be responsible for the raid. A majority of Republican voters, 76.7 percent, said “Trump’s political enemies,” while a majority of Democrat voters, 70.5 percent, said the “impartial justice system.”
In a statement about the survey, which was conducted Aug. 9-Aug. 10, Convention of States Action president Mark Meckler said the poll is just the tip of the iceberg.
“This gestapo-style injustice has created a voting surge that is so significant, the polling doesn’t even begin to reflect what is coming from grassroots voters in November," he said.

Trafalgar Group Poll: Does the FBI Raid on President Trump Increase your Motivation to vote in 2022 elections? (Republican voters)
YES - 83%
NO - 11%https://t.co/d2GJFURNA5 pic.twitter.com/2JioswQKR3— InteractivePolls (@IAPolls2022) August 10, 2022
So many of us on here are NOT “independent”, and I suspect you don’t know many of them either. It would be interesting to ask some so-called independent types how they feel about the raid. We all know at least a few leftist lackies who are going to spew Liz Cheney type vitriol for Trump, but I know the perfect low information type to ask and I’ll report back on it tomorrow. I’m really curious how many people see this as a low blow by the government, or a kind of overreach.
Are we all split up into tribes and just don’t sway, or are there some people out there who really think this is a bad look for the democrats?
The amount of broken glass Republicans are willing to crawl through to vote in 2022 just increased maybe, but we are already fully motivated.
How much more motivated can you be than crawl over broken glass naked? That’s how motivated I was a year ago.
Democrats 84% approve, 7% disapprove.
Independents 47% approve, 33% disapprove.
Republicans 15% approve, 72% disapprove.
Overall 49% approve, 37% disapprove. Poll done on 10 August, 2,004 respondents.
And that's the reason for the raid. The Dems are gonna make damned sure Trump never gets on a ballot again.
Over sampling Demoncrats who hate Orange Man Bad.
Don’t get so excited.
These generic questions don’t tell you anything.
How many Dems are going to the polls? Or is the question extra motivated?
Being “motivated” might mean that you can’t stand hearing from conservatives how bad a raid is, and want to shoot them down.
never get complacent.
Even before this raid, we should’ve been paying more attention to mid-terms and not taking it for granted there will be a “red” (I hate that color) wave. Especially after this, which can make commie Dems more likely to vote.
What’s the point? No disrespect to Trump, but Ron DeSantis is just as big a threat to the Dems, maybe bigger.
Thanks for proving my point.
Yup.
The raid did not create as much enthusiasm to vote among Democrats, with only 55.2% saying it made a difference.
Enthusiasm was missing from the Politico poll.
Well he won’t be on the ballot in 2022...but many who he backed will be. As for 2024 I saw one of Trump’s lawyers interview by the Epoch Times and she was asked about the potential of using classified document statute to make Trump ineligible for public office and she seemed pretty confident the effort won’t work.
