Thousands of rounds of ammo have ‘gone missing’ during UPS shipping
American Military News ^ | 08/09/2022 | Liz George

The CEO of an online ammo retailer said last week that thousands of rounds of ammunition have “gone missing” during transit, particularly when shipped through UPS.

CEO Patrick Collins of ammunition retailer The Gun Food said of 18,000 rounds of ammo that has been shipped from his company via UPS, just one third made it to their final destination. It is unclear where the remaining 12,000 rounds are.

During an appearance on The Glenn Beck Program, Collins said UPS blames The Gun Food’s packaging for the missing ammo, despite the company having “met and exceeded” packaging expectations.

Diverted to the Mexican cartels?

ISIS?

The alphabet-soup Fed agencies?

Is there a difference?

Last month didn’t UPS promised to destroy any packages being sent by vendors that sold firearms?

Glenn has had the head of Black Metal Firearms on his radio show a few times. I think they’re in Mesa, Arizona.

Black Metal Firearms has had shipments of ammo disappear....many shipments! And reportedly, this has happened to other online retailers of ammo.

Load some hot, and let them get stolen.

You will find them.

I try to avoid UPS whenever possible. The insurance they sell is a joke. You can’t even get them to honor the free amount they offer with all shipping.
I’ve lost count of how many packages they’ve lost or damaged. If I’m buying and their the shipper then its just time consuming and frustrating. If it’s from family then just forget about it.

I maintain that UPS is properly pronounced “OOPS” and that the particular shade of brown of their trucks is most appropriate.

Ups sucks massively. They will not leave packages at my door, unlike FedEx, and I always have to arrange to rummage through their warehouse for stuff. I got up in one of their managers fsce about once as to how stupid their policies were. I wonder if any of it is related to the fact they are union.

UPS is the most unreliable, and trying to reach and get a response to missing items has been hard.

I disagree. I’ve never had a problem with UPS including shipments of powder and primers. On the other hand FedEx seems to misplace every shipment. In the last year they lost an entire set of tires and were 4-5 days late on every other shipment (including the replacement tires). Every shipment shows it will arrive today then dissappears into limbo for 3-4 days before finally showing up.

They are trained snitches too. My fishing buddy used to be a driver for them while he was finishing graduate school.

He told me that UPS brought in detectives who worked in a multi-jurisdictional drug task force. They mostly chased down small indoor pot growers, they DID NOT PURSUE organized or cartel big operations. The detectives told the UPS personnel to call the Feds if the suspected a big boy operation.

They taught the drivers what the growers would order, high intensity light bulbs, soils, soil additives and the like. They were also trained to look for jumper wires on power poles and service panels. Many people tried not only growing the stink weed in the city/suburban areas but they also stole the power to run the lights. (Dumbassess didn’t think the utility companies had any idea how much juice flowed thru the system!)

Anyway, my friend said that was too much. He didn’t want to be a junior police enforcer. That big brown truck was a huge target for revenge. Ever since I look at UPS with a jaundiced eye. Companies should not put their employees at risk like that, it’s bad enough with the legalized thievery and jackings, that’s all a driver needs to have to watch out for someone they snitched out. UPS doesn’t allow their drivers to carry.

Maybe the post office is keeping the ammo for themselves - and sharing a little with the IRS agents - you know the ones hired to only go after billionaires.

Sorry! I mistook UPS for the USPS. We have done much online shopping, for ourselves and neighbors, thanks be to God, and UPS has provided the best service, including returns, as with the RMA on the box you can just give it to the driver, and see it credited a few hours later. Good updates if you are signed up, and drivers are good drivers and efficient. Same old delivery trucks as years ago, but in very good condition.

UPS usually comes by at least twice a week on our street in this "low income" city, and the only complaint I have is the none of the delivery persons will ring the door bell right in front of them, though UPS usually leaves packages inside if door is open.

Walmart uses FedEx and drivers often just toss boxes on the porch, and as Walmart (lowest prices on many common goods) packages poorly, sometimes contents are spilled.

As for the USPS, the postal delivery workers have overall been nice and personable and good to work with, but the system is the least reliable. Local PO as well as the main distribution typically answers phones, and poor response at the Fed level. Amazon shipped auto parts a few years ago and USPS lost them, but it took many calls to actually talk to a person and to find that out. Yet Amazon made good for them. On the other hand, I once placed a return RMA on the wrong box and gave it to the postman, and (when in my chagrin I realized my mistake) I tried to get a hold of the local PO or main distribution to try to stop it or find out what to do, then I could not. Even going to the main main distribution that day could not stop it, nor did they know what driver got it yet the workers were considerate and tried. And I gave them the correct package with a duplicate RMA, and both ended up at the same place. No problem in the end, thanks be to God.

So what does UPS have to say about it? They’re responsible for delivering and with ammo probably requires signature.

UPS is woke s*** btw.
