This year's drought conditions are taking a harder toll than last year's, as 37% of farmers said they are plowing through and killing existing crops that won't reach maturity because of dry conditions. That's a jump from 24% last year, according to the survey.
July was the third-hottest on record for the U.S. and ranked in the top 10 for every state in the West except for Montana, according to the National Centers for Environmental Information. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly weather and crop bulletin ending the week of Aug. 6 reported "rapidly intensifying drought gripped the central and southern Plains and mid-South, depleting topsoil moisture and significantly stressing rangeland, pastures, and various summer crops."
...In California — a state with high fruit and nut tree crops — 50% of farmers in the state said they had to remove trees and multiyear crops due to drought, the survey revealed, which will affect future revenue. And 33% of all U.S. farmers said they've had to do the same, nearly double the number from last year.
...Farmers in the Lone Star state reported the largest reduction in herd size, down 50%, followed by New Mexico and Oregon at 43% and 41% respectively.

The ‘meat dept’ worker in our supermarket told me they were slaughtering cows because of the heat???(Texas is always hot!),
…but also because they can’t get a fair price for the cattle
CNN’s Propaganda
“We haven’t had this kind of movement of cows to market in a decade, since 2011, which was our last really big drought,” said David Anderson, a professor of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M told CNN last month.
As it has always been done. This isn’t the first ever drought.
I see on Zoom Earth Texas is getting rain , so they can stop now ,LOL
someone screwed up
first 4 paragraphs no mention of climate change
not even in the title
Control the food supply, control the people.
It’s GlowBull Warming. Ask Owl Gore.
Urban folk? Rurals understand the mega drought.
Malthusian Theory
> CNN’s Propaganda <
CNN only cares about farmers if they can connect farming problems to (fake) Climate Change.
the heat and lack of rain is drying up the grazing land. So. they sell the cattle instead of paying the 50% higher prices for hay/alfalfa. Which is caused by double costs of diesel fuel and fertilizer. If they paid the higher hay cost, they will not get enough for the beef to break even......all brought to us by allowing the election to be stolen.
(unless it is for "them")
We know "them" are their global overlords(those that sign their paychecks to push the propaganda/agenda)
...the agenda being...
“you will own nothing & you will be happy”
(translation...you will be our slave, or you will be dead)
They’ve been having consecutive days of 100 and over..
…but thankfully there’s a front coming through
I think the drought is breaking right now. I predict higher releases of water next spring from the Colorado snow fields that send water west by river and east by pipe. The drought started to break last winter/spring but a sudden short warmup during the pre and early runoff time evaporated a lot of snow before it could run off rather than sending it downstream. That evaporated water has been since been falling as rain (it has no choice) causing a lot of flash floods and rock falls which are still ongoing.
CNN- BS for idiots and those stuck at airports
CNN, oh ok.
Portland’s premier propaganda and grooming station FOX ch 12
recently had an article about groups wanting to introduce more wolves to Washington state, with a “benefit of reducing the deer and elk herds”.
Well isn’t that telling.
Live cattle prices are over $146 per hundredweight.
