Karl Rove, who served as a senior adviser to former President George W. Bush, said on Friday that former President Trump did not have the authority to take presidential documents with him to his Mar-a-Lago residence when he ended his term.
“Why he was holding on to these materials when he had no legal authority to do so under the Presidential Records Act is beyond me,” Rove, a Fox News contributor, said during an appearance on the network.
Rove’s appearance came shortly after a federal magistrate judge approved the release of a redacted affidavit used to convince him to approve a search warrant for Trump’s Florida residence.

Rove is wrong here. If the documents Trump had were declassified they would have less impact on security than the NY Times columns. This is the reason they are having to review them to determine their status. To my knowledge, Rove is not clairvoyant and has the ability to know what is in the documents. This is why they are reviewing them.

Ever since Trump called out the Bush (jr) administration on the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and on various other issues, those that worked closely with Bush, have been Trump contrarians. That includes Dick Cheney (along with Liz Cheney, and Karl Rove.
Though they claim to be conservatives, they’re on the side of the democrats when it comes to Trump.
