ussian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday doubled down on threats to cut off all energy supplies to Western countries if they impose price caps on its oil and gas exports, ratcheting tensions and escalating Europe’s energy crisis as Moscow struggles to supply its military under sweeping sanctions.

Speaking at an economic forum in Vladivostok, a port city in Russia’s far east, Putin said Russia would walk away from its supply contracts if price caps are imposed on the country’s energy exports, Reuters reported.

I thought the West and Europe had already put sanctions on Russian oil and gas. Was that a lie?

Well, let Europe use their green energy supplies. They’ve been touting them for 50 years. Turn the wind mills on. There should be no problem....right?

Looks like Europe is in for a very Cold Winter. We could probably help if Biden would reverse his anti-Fossil Fuel positions. Fat chance of that happening.

If the EU manages as the above article indicates, Putin’s bluff will fail.

If I imposed a price cap on new F-150 pickups of 19,999 MSRP, think Ford would honor my price cap and deliver one?

Morons. Arrogant morons.

Price caps? That’s like going down to the gas station and telling them how much you’re going to pay them rather than going to another station.

The EU just imposed price caps. Nixon imposed price controls in 1971 for an initial 90-days, which extended for more than 3 yrs. Inflation rose from 4% to 12% when they were lifted, so good luck to the people of Europe, and may they rise up in righteous anger.

“””if price caps are imposed on the country’s energy exports, Reuters reported”””

In this one news story we have Forbes, MSN, and Reuters all doing a whole bunch of ‘wishful thinking’.

Exactly how will the EU impose price caps on energy they so desperately need??????

Sooo, where’s Putin going to store all this pipeline oil once he turns off oil during winter?

China is gladly taking Russia’s oil.

Also, Russia can cut back on production.

So Russia should have little problems.

Also, I believe very little oil is being sold to EU countries at the present time.

Russia is selling its oil to China and India, which are selling it back to Europe at much higher cost. Turkey has also increased its imports of Russian oil.

Oil and gas sell themselves.

What would be a good way for Western leaders to subjugate their citizens while placing the blame squarely on an “enemy” nation?

It makes one wonder if Putin is in on the game.

If Putin wanted to upset European leaders, he could speak directly to the European people and explain why they will have very expensive heat this winter, if they have it at all. Just blame it on their leaders. Then encourage them to let their governments know they want heat. He could change things with a propaganda campaign.

OPEC producers like Saudi Arabia are buying Russian oil because its being sold at a discount to Brent Sea Crude price.
They are using it for their domestic consumption.
Then selling the crude they would have used domestically on the world market.

We’ll certainly see as thus far neither parties are willing to bend.
