Welcome to the Ice Age inside your homes, Germany.
Well they’re all using resources as war fodder now....
Some dumpster fires are funnier than others.....and some are just plain hilarious.
China is gladly taking Russia’s oil...
... and India, Pakistan, Indonesia, a good chunk of Africa, Mexico, Brazil, etc.
Some think the world consists of the U.S., Australia, and a handful of countries in Europe.
Those petro products are on the market to whoever’s willing to pay the price.
And here’s reality: The BRICS alliance have a lot more customers (read: people) than all the folks the NATO nations haven’t aborted - combined, and who are not diving head first into the ‘green energy’ pool.
Whatever NATO’s strategy, it’s clearly not meeting its stated goals.
Still, my prediction is that Europe will not freeze this winter. Remember: these countries have been around a lot longer than ours. They will make a deal with the Russians or the BRICS - despite U.S. objections, and there isn’t a darn thing we can do about it.

Expect the following in Europe - but think positive, because you’re ‘punishing’ Russia (by driving up the price of energy he’s able to charge Asia and the rest of the world).
1. Thermostat limits, for ALL buildings, including residences. By the middle of winter, likely 15C (59F) and in summer, 27C (80F).
2. Unannounced ‘compliance inspections’ as police go door-to-door. If you don’t open your door and allow them in, then you get the Canadian Trucker Treatment, along with fines drained directly from your bank accounts.
3. Driving Lockdowns, similar to Covid Lockdowns, including checkpoints. If you’re more than 5 miles from home, you better have a damn good reason.
4. Super-high Energy Prices - Fuel pushing $15-20/gallon (mostly to punish carbon polluters), similar high-priced natural gas and electricity (several times higher than the US).
5. Anyone opposing the above will be labeled as a Putin Puppet, which should sound familiar.
...but think positive, because you’re ‘punishing’ Russia
The world is crazy. The whole world seems to be beating up on Russia, which is fine if you believe the Ukraine is worth it. Did they not think Putin would respond to their sanctions? His sanction in reply is to shut down Europe’s energy. Did they think he would care about all the people who will freeze? The world is run by a bunch of idiots.
Do it!
BS threat anyways.
There’s always Brazilian, Venezuelan and Iranian oil (Russian oil transshipped).
(Disclaimer: Justa is invested in Brazilian oil stock PBR).
Welcome back Dark Ages!
I believe someone warned of this exact scenario and was laughed at by politicians foreign and domestic as well as the press.

Was that Trump by chance??????
My question is whether or not there is enough LNG supertanker capacity to make up for the Russian embargo this winter. Germany has been licensing LNG floating hubs for offloading LNG to land-based storage facilities. If Biden would get his head out of his ass long enough, he might realize that this could be a golden opportunity for US natural gas producers to cash in on EU demand at very high prices.
I know. Uncorking Biden is unlikely to happen.
Transported by pipeline or ship? Secondly, the volume is no where near to EU countries. So will Russia cap these excessive volumes? BTW, winter is coming & this oil is from Siberia. EXPENSIVE OIL
No. But Europe is refiring nuke and coal plants. I believe at least one pipeline south is coming online, etc. US LNG deliveries to Europe have surged, however, a "wartime footing" effort* as I advocated from last February has NOT occurred: The Biden Admin. evidently is opposed to a "win-win".
*Such an effort won't help Europe much this winter - it takes too long to increase production and, especially, transport. But, it does get things moving in the right direction and would help some with prices here, as well as creating a positive economic kick in likely all of North America.
The transport limitation is also a big problem for Russia. This has been hashed out on FR, and while estimates vary, it appears that for at least a few years, Russia has no way to move about half of their gas exports. This creates a global shortage. Poor countries that don't have the options Europe does will likely be impacted the most. If prices stay, say, doubled, Pooty likely doesn't have a big problem with the export volume decrease. However, such high prices will drive increased energy supplies, in turn softening prices. A global recession (likely) will assist, although that also weakens development of supply. If the Chinese keep shooting themselves in the foot (persistent COVID obsession, and in general a descent into increasing authoritarianism), that will dent prices, and Pooty's plans, considerably.
