MSNBC contributor Claire McCaskill said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that she hoped people in Florida who hate the federal government will remember that the federal government was there for them in a time of disaster.
Discussing Hurricane Ian, McCaskill said, “Yeah, and when we are in devastating tornadoes in southwest Missouri, a very Republican area, you saw those party lines fall away. Now the one thing I do hope, Joe, to put a little politics in this. We all are praying for the people of Florida. We hope the devastation is not deadly. We are glad for the cooperation, but when it’s all over, I hope some of those Floridians who hate the federal government remember that the federal government is there for them at a time of disaster.

Hey Claire remember that most of the direct aid come from the State of Florida. The Federal government provides financial support that is paid by taxes that are collected from the same people who are affected. Unfortunately that aid is not very efficient.
OTOH, The Feds won’t be able to do swat raids during the hurricane.

McCaskill was a disaster as senator and was voted out as soon as the people realized she was a jibbering idiot. Also, Floridians know that a Democrat-controlled FedGov will likely ignore their emergency needs since they voted GOP. Democrats have no ethics and sadistically enjoy harming states that reject Communism.
Galveston recovered nicely a hundred years ago. No help was available.
I hope those in need remember how the dims are using the hurricane to belittle those in need.
Well, we already have good government under DeSantis. The fed government only gets in the way, and the only thing Floridians need is the money and manpower which taxpayers (not government) have been paying for.
Big government is not necessary, and in fact, small or smallest possible government is best. McCaskill and big government proponents need to stay out of the way when the people can do better without the intrusive government.

My wife and I had a discussion this morning about the upcoming ballot initiatives in my Leftist state, and she said "If you hate government so much..." and I had to interrupt her:
"I don't "hate government". I DESPISE BLOATED AND TYRANNICAL government that is outside the boundaries enumerated by the Constitution."
