Russia’s forces are drunk, armed with ‘obsolete’ weapons: Ukraine
NY POST ^ | October 4, 2022 | By Snejana Farberov

Soldiers in Russia’s newly formed 3rd Army Corps fighting in Ukraine are often drunk, plagued by low morale and forced to use obsolete weapons on the battlefield, according to the Ukrainian military.

The Kremlin cobbled together the formation in June to replace the tens of thousands of troops killed or injured since the start of the invasion in February. It is composed of several brigades totaling some 15,000 mostly volunteer soldiers equipped with hundreds of tanks, Newsweek reported.

But according to an update from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Monday, Russia’s five-month-old unit is facing some major hurdles.

Citing unspecified “available information,” Ukraine’s military claimed that the 3rd Army Corps is unable to effectively perform its tasks due, in part, to “obsolete and unusable weapons and military equipment” that troops are being forced to use.

According to the General Staff’s update, servicemen in the unit have been known to arbitrarily abandon positions and refuse orders.

Ukrainian officials blamed the corps’ woes on “consumption of alcoholic beverages” and “systematic violations of military discipline,” which have been causing “demoralization” in the ranks.

Forbes Magazine reported in mid-September that the 3rd Army Corps, based in Mulino, Russia, is staffed by old, unfit volunteers, among them drug and alcohol addicts, who are getting paid up to $5,000 a month, which is five times higher than the average Russian salary.

A portion of the unit was deployed in the Kharkiv region in early September, just before Ukraine launched a lightning counter-offensive that reclaimed large swaths of occupied territory and pushed Moscow’s forces across the border back into Russia.

Low morale is not good for attackers. Russians are traditionally horrible on the offensive.

Russia’s forces are drunk, armed with ‘obsolete’ weapons: Ukraine

After seeing videos of freshly-mobilized Russians—so drunk they could barely stand—many asked whether it's for real. Former deputy commander of Russia's southern military district, Andrey Gurulyov: "Never in my life have I seen any sober people there."

Mr Gurulyov there says it’s the Russian way to arrive drunk

You could be right but I am curious why hasn’t the Russian military been “unleashed” up to this point and why mobilize million untrained Russians to have to unleash?
I does really confuse me is Russia playing some game or are they really this bad and incompetent
Frankly I go with the latter and when the gig is about up Putin will go full hiltler bunker
Dr Strangelove….

That MP-40 is worth some $$$.

Yep. I'd give the guy a $200 Starbucks card for that at a gun buyback. OK, two-fifty.

The “lightning counteroffensive” seems to have hit a ground wire. Not much lightning lately. And as they said about the Red Army in WWII, a bunch of drunks who lost every battle, all the way to the streets of Berlin.

Call me in a 100 years and let’s see if you still agree with that Ruskie after your precious Russia is firebombed into oblivion by The Lord Himself via Ezekiel 38 & 39 and Russia will cease to ever be a nation again.

I get that you don’t believe it, and you don’t care, and that you think Christianity is a joke - but the truth always wins. Even with fools.

And you have a direct connection with God? Because in just about every war, God is on the side of whomever you are talking to.

Bringing God into a war is kind of silly. Actually believing that God advocates for war is for the weak minded. “They” have been pulling that crap since the Crusades.

Bet an ice cream bar that “$5,000 a month” is fiction.

Why bother with propaganda when we shall soon see how the Ukrainian military fares against the unleashed Russian military.

The Russian military was unleased in February. It turned out to be a mangy mutt, and is now running with its tail between its legs.

Gosh, this comment got a reaction. Note that I did not predict what would happen, only that a change is in the offing. What is the difference? Russia has to date conducted what they have termed a “Special Military Operaton” in which they have used a limited amount of troops and have not, as it appears to me, systematically (as opposed to one-off attacks) attempted to take down the Ukrainian power grid and rail network. The vast majority of the infantry used by the Russians so far appears to be irregular forces such as the Donbas militia, Chechens and Wagner. And their Air Force has seemed to be mostly MIA. Now, all this could reflect their limited capability. Or it may have been because of how they viewed and designated the war up until now. Now that the four areas have been declared to be part of Russia, we shall see if the Russians start doing things differently and if it makes a difference. I make no predictions. Except that the war will not be won by macho talk here on FR.

An insane individual calls somebody else insane.
That’s textbook!

They (JON PRESTON) “suppress the truth by their wickedness,” and it is upon these people that the wrath of God rests.

Romans 1:18
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men (JON PRESTON), who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.

Romans 1:28
And since they (JON PRESTON) did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done

Not that you will “get it”, but an insane individual cannot acknowledge truth because he rejected truth.

Titus 1:16
They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.

Sounds like you...

Hope you find truth Preston! (John 14:6)
