I assume somebody is developing a downsized version of the Phalanx CIWS that shoots shotgun shells or similar?

“There are quite a few terms I’ve been called that are FAR MORE colorful than ‘Neocon’, both regarding the Ukraine War and my support of Trump over Cruz early in the 2016 Primary season.:”

So have I!!!
But the term Neocon, shoe doesn’t fits— it is not one size fits all. But, it doesn’t STOP the name calling!

Similar complaint from those that don’t want to financially support Ukraine does not mean they support Putin. Or, those that support Ukraine doesn’t mean they don’t support U.S. border closing, or support LGBQ etc, or are Nazi’s!

Freepers are impassioned patriots. But, they strike out at each other, “You’re going to have the deaths of millions caused.”

The name calling is ridiculous: from homo-phob to Jezebel, to stupid, fool, globohomos, kindergarten level neo-cons, Idiot, morons, etc.

We all need to do better and be kinder

For what it’s worth, I’ve stopped calling fellow FReepers “Neocons”, although I admittedly still come close, by, for example, calling some “Neocon supporters”...which they are regarding Ukraine, whether they know it or not, and whether they like it or not.

“although I admittedly still come close”

We all struggle not to make disparaging remarks. Especially, when individuals see a ‘different side’ of the same coin.

But, the name calling or ‘forum-bulling’ is well- beneath the objective of FR forum: provide topical info to update & learn from each other.

I don’t know what your point is by scanning all your posts looking for anything that runs counter to your post and responding with a dissertation, like your mission in life is to change everyone’s mind over Ukraine and you’ve double downed after accusations that you were using multiple logins.

You have one opinion about Ukraine which is fine, but you are not going to change anyone’s mind by overwhelming them with posts and responses.

“False accusations are meaningless.”

Hope this helps:
Not my intention or responsibility to “change” anyone’s opinion.

We all have Freedom of thought to hold our own viewpoint with opportunity for freedom of expression. To your point, I have no problem with individuals that see a ‘different side’ of the same coin. FR is not here to engage in internet ‘bullying’ flame-wars. How meaningless & pointless is that! LOL

The FR forum does providestopical info with the opportunity to share, update & learn from each other. Regarding topic of Russia-Ukraine, I have happen to have access to multiple sources. So, I share that information on FR.

As was discussed yesterday, the Free Republic is like a newspaper. Topics posted and comments made can be skimmed headline to view those of your personal interest. I do :)

All I know if you inundate FR with endless pro-Ukraine, anti-Russia propaganda, which no one has any real idea if it’s true or not.

Perhaps not you, but other posters like you have said they would rather have nuclear war than allow Russia to keep control parts of Ukraine which is insane.

As to the false allegations against you, I have no idea if they are true or not, your statements are not proof.

I just think it’s borderline neurotic to keep posting the same propaganda every day, 90% of time I ignore, because it’s the same articles every day, Ukraine Goood, Russia Bad.

To: Alas Babylon!

Maybe I’m wrong. (do you believe I said that)

In an article today in Al Jazeera, it is noted that Israeli President Herzog is visiting Biden. This is a White House Quote.

“Biden and Herzog will “consult on key issues, including regional and global challenges of mutual concern, opportunities to deepen Israel’s regional integration and ways to advance equal measures of freedom, prosperity and security for both Israelis and Palestinians”, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said.”

also:
the US administration has focused on regional “integration”, advancing a vision of the Middle East where Arab countries cooperate militarily and economically with Israel to ward off perceived common threats, namely Iran.

Those sentences indicate that I am wrong. To me, it indicates a change away from the Obama Iranian nuclear treaty legacy to the Trump Abrams Accord policy both Israel and the regional Arabs are committed to.

The Jerusalem Post says the same in more muted fashion

Anyway, it seems to be a very recent change in the Biden outlook on Iran

“Propaganda” is inaccurate. Your opinion regarding the statement I stated as being a false allegation is what it is. Truth is truth. Evidence speaks for itself

BTW, Propaganda is an effort to INFLUENCE public opinion.

I have clarified it is not my intention or responsibility to “change” or form the opinion for some one else. Hopefully, facts presented will assist to present a more comprehensive understanding of an issue. It is TOTALLY fine with me if you skim or ignore my posts.

The goal is to be an Independent Thinker. Consider many different views to determine which is based on truth and facts.

I have learned as much from people whose views are opposite mine. Not because the opposing view influenced or took control over my viewpoint, but instead these opposing views clarified and confirmed mine! LOL

WOW! Thank you.

I am honored to have been able to present both sides. Also, I totally respect your personal freedom of thought to reject the same.

Wow! Thanks! I really appreciate that update. I totally had missed that.

It would be nice if mutual cooperation between Arab countries & Israel could be developed... I am skeptical... but hopeful! But, Iran is quite a fly-in-the-ointment forpeace anywhere!

Here are two links providing info on the coalition that is essentially anti Iran but much more. The Abrams agreements were put together by President Trump and paved the way for the Negev Summit.

The Negev Summit was participated by America and More Arab countries than in the Abrams agreements

The outcome is the Arabs dropping the strong ties to the Palestinians and making strong commercial and miltary ties to Israel.

I wondered about the Biden commitment because even though participating in the Negev Summit the administration was simultaneously still messing about with a new nuclear deal with Iran.

I would say I mostly agree with you. I do understand man’s natural state and we are back in the madness stage. I also understand the military industrial complex that Ike warned us about spent 40 years in the military. Where I may disagree with you is about Putin. I understand what Putin wants/wanted and why he invaded but the thing is whether Putin likes it or not Ukraine is a sovereign nation and parts were given to Ukraine by Lenin the Russian leader at the time and the fact that Putin doesn’t agree with that and he told us he did t want Ukraine joining NATO or EU doesn’t matter. Similar arguments were made by hitler about lands he believed belonged to Germany. If Putin said all these lands once were part of USSR would that be justification for him to invade all those countries. Can he say he wants Alaska back and we say no he is justified in invading. Can mexiconsay they want kali, Texas….. back and be justified in invading. Most of Europe’s and the world’s countries borders are all relatively new so do we disregard them because someone says they don’t agree with them. As in most wars there may be a winner but there are for more losers on both sides

Not sure Putin is spending Pennie’s but he certainly has lost billions in military equipment not to mention Russian lives for an ambition and ideal of his. Ukraine needs billions to defend itself against what was once thought of as the 2nd largest military. He has lost that now too for what. Do you think he would have stopped at taking Ukraine? Would this have been another chamberlain peace in our time letter nevermind that already happened with Crimea Was Ukraine going to invade Russia? Was NATO going to invade Russia? This is on Putin. As to money running out I imagine you are right and the west as the west always does grows weary and wants to get back to destroying itself from the inside out.

2.1 million would not surprise me but what will this get him. A bunch of untrained unmotivated cannon fodder, as with most wars the people support them till it starts affecting them. White Russia has been fine with this war so long as the ethnic Russians and not them were coming home in body bags and they don’t suffer any inconvenience but that is changing and the so called solid Russian economy is cracking. When the lines start and the inconveniences hit them the support will stop. Also do you think China is not watching all this unfold as well as other Russian regions with separatist ideas and see a weakened Russia and might take advantage. China for instance wants Taiwan back but knows that means war. Would west go to war with China if it decided to take eastern regions of Russia doubtful. How about Japan and the disputed islands….. IMO no matter how this washes out Russia has lost and the question is how Berlin bunker is Putin

I never understood Ike’s reference to the Military Industrial Complex until after we had left Vietnam. It dawned on me that we were lending the South Vietnamese the money to purchase arms from us. Since then I’ve seen the MIC skulking in every shadow and behind every shrub.

As far as Putin wanting Ukraine back, of course he does. When Ukraine split off an awful lot of industrial and agricultural capacity went with them. Plus he wants his land bridge to Crimea.
As far as the areas Hitler annexed, Alsace-Lorraine has been fought over since before Germany was a unified nation and part of Czechoslovakia had been populated by German speaking people for some time. But they were just excuses for Hitler’s desire to punish Europe for Versailles.
As for Poland, under the Treaty of Versailles, a travesty, Poland was given West Prussia, Poznan, and Upper Silesia. Those lands were a rallying cry for the people who were still upset about how the 1st WW ended.
Mexico has already invaded California and seemingly won. Can’t deny that California isn’t as politically corrupt as any Mexican state. Alaska was a straight up land purchase. We paid for it out of the treasury, no blood involved.

Since, as you say, most national borders are relatively new why can’t the breakaway Donbass areas be allowed to go their way? They were trying to break off before Putin got militarily involved. Ukraine didn’t want to let them go. The Deep State had other ideas.
I actually have the notion China Joe was installed to prod Putin into the actions he has taken. Remember Joe’s remark that as long as Russia kept a minimal incursion into Ukraine, he was okay with it?
