The government and opposition in agreement.
Gantz is totally pro-Israel, Bibi, needless to say, is the same. They both want to be sure that Israel can take care of ‘dealing with its neighbors’ REGARDLESS of the threats that the Neocons.
Common sense from the Israelis. Russia is not their enemy, and this is not their war. Why should they get involved?
I’m unsure of the amount of weapons the US supplies to Israel but I would suspect that Israel does not want to ship weapons they will be unable to replace due to our current administration.
The world power structures are beginning to change. Israel and Saudi Arabia are finding that they have common security concerns. They no longer trust the United States to oppose and keep their common enemy Iran in check and nuclear free. Saudi Arabia is essentially in the oil business with Russia and makes far more money cooperating with Russia than opposing it. It views Russia as a power that has influence restraining Iran. Israel also shares cultural, business and intellectual ties with Russia. A working Israel/Russia/Saudi cooperation sphere independent of the US makes sense for these nations.
Perhaps they could poll the permanent residents of Babi Yar, to see what they think.
I agree with Israel's position
Not long ago, we left some never used, sophisticated equipment in Afghanistan,
which weeks later we found on the interweb for sale for high bidder
I am sure the Russians and Chinese would like access to the Israeli equipment
to reverse engineer it, and defeat it !
The leaders of Israel should do what is in their national interest.
In this instance the Israeli government being a neutral player is their best foreign policy position IMO.
However, individual Israelis should be free to voice their opinions and offer humanitarian support to victims of the Russian-Ukraine War.
That’s good to know, but to be clear, no one is SELLING weapons to the welfare state Ukraine. So hopefully this means they aren’t giving them weapons, either. The last thing we need is for this to spill over into a direct war between Iran and and Israel at the same time as the ongoing conflict, which is a much bigger concern than the loss of Israeli technology to the black market, but combined should make it a no brainer.
