Republican Christine Drazan is closely leading Democrat Tina Kotek and Democrat-turned-independent Betsy Johnson in yet another poll released ahead of the high-stakes Oregon gubernatorial election.
A poll released by The Hoffman Research Group shows former Oregon House Republican leader Drazan ahead of former Oregon House Speaker Kotek 37 percent to 35 percent, within the survey’s ±3.8 percent margin of error. Former Democrat state senator Johnson, who is running as an independent, garnered 17 percent, and 12 percent remain undecided.

Narrowly leading ain’t gonna cut it I’m afraid 😏
This could be really sweet.
Johnson’s trying to be a spoiler for the Republican. She’s coming across a conservative but’s a lifelong Dem.
Not just the mis-governor, Patty Murray maybe going down.
Yeah, I think most of OR Dems sit out this election. Polling doesn’t mean sh*t if you don’t show up to vote.
Yeah l think Or is all mail so a small lead is no lead.
“Polling doesn’t mean sh*t if you don’t show up to vote.”
Or in the case of Oregon - walk to the mailbox.
Oregon is all mail in voting, with postage paid return envelopes. And as long as the postmark is timely, they can be received after the date of the election. Too many opportunities for fraud.
Something to consider...Oregon has 970,284 registered Democrats, 701,970 registered Republicans and 955,801 Non-Affiliated voters...this doesn’t count people who registered as Independents. A poll showing a Republican candidate ahead, indicates a shift that overcomes the sheer number against them. Also indicates many Non-Affiliated are shifting to Republican choice.
Yes, we always have to consider the fraud that will come out of Multnomah County. We can still hope for a monumental outcome.
No doubt. For a Republican to have an actual lead in Oregon is a miracle
Polling in Oregon in the past has often been off in the D favor by up to 8 points at times.
This will be interesting to watch.
Got my ballot today and have it filled out. Not going to turn it in until the last day possible.
The Oregonian has endorsed Kotek.
People who register as Independent sometimes don’t realize they are joining a party. They think they are unaffiliated.
You got that right.
Actually, I’m a little surprised. Many a time the Oregonian has endorsed the Republican. I think it’s because, when they call to get me to subscribe and I say no because they are leftist, they can say, “But, we endorsed the Republican.”
Have you ever had that happen? I have.
You are so right! Most don’t know Independent is not Non-Affiliated.
