As the U.S. government rolls out an array of climate measures included in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), electric school buses have emerged as one of the low-hanging fruits. They can immediately improve health for children and communities, while expediting the broader transition to electric vehicles — a crucial step in preventing the worst impacts of climate change. That’s why it is great news that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) just announced nearly $1 billion in rebate awards to 389 school districts. A full 95 percent of the buses funded will be electric school buses. Now, every state is part of the electric school bus revolution, alongside Washington, D.C., territories and tribal nations.

“Climate Change” is a scam to feed Big Government through higher taxes and Big Business through taxpayer backed contracts like this with politicians getting campaign kickbacks.

It is a good thing that magic EV school busses are powered entirely by rainbows and unicorn farts.

Being that electricity is hard to find on Indian Lands, where do you plug them in? Also, batteries hate two things, excessive heat and excessive cold.

The Minneapolis schools a few years ago pushed for biodiesel for their school buses. One cold morning many buses stalled due to their biodiesel fuel turning to jelly and leaving kids stranded. I expect that this scenario might be repeated with electric buses.

“But, where does the electricity come from?”
“That plug, right there.”!

I can see it 30 years from now.....a scrap yard filled with the rusting hulks of yellow electric school busses.
When asked why there are so many of them, the response - “Well, the kids’ parents were getting tired of all of the times the busses burst into flames and incinerated their kids”.

That's a hell of a big heat sink for the battery to warm up in Northern cold weather.

Don’t drive the kids to school in the rain? I can see that as a way to keep it going.

Thirty years is how long it takes to pay off the extra cost of $275,000 per bus for supposed savings in fuel. The life span of the buses is 12 years or less.
The carcasses will not make it to the scrapyard, they make good homeless shelters. Look forward to seeing them on streets.
