BREAKING NEWS: Trump inaugural committee chair Tom Barrack found NOT GUILTY on counts of acting as an unregistered agent for the UAE and lying to the FBI
UK Daily Mail ^ | 11/04/2022 | Morgan Phillips

Tom Barrack, Trump's longtime billionaire friend and 2016 fundraiser, has been acquitted on all charges related to accusations he lobbied Trump on behalf of the United Arab Emirates without registering as a foreign agent.

He also stood accused of then lying to the FBI about those contacts.

The jury deliberated for about two days at federal court in Brooklyn before finding Barrack not guilty.

Prosecutors alleged Barrack had traded on his decades-long friendship with the then-president to give UAE officials access to and insider information on the Trump White House and 2016 campaign.

Acting as a foreign agent without registering with the Justice Department is a violation that carries up to 10 years of prison time.

Barrack, who served as Trump's inaugural committee chairman, was also charged with obstruction of justice and lying to the FBI about his UAE contacts in a 2019 interview.

Barrack denied doing bidding for the UAE and said the praise he showered on the nation and meetings he set up between UAE officials and White House officials were because he wanted to, not because he was being directed to.

Now a law that forces the Federal courts to pay all expenses to those going through the process and found not guilty...... out of the budget and pockets of investigators, lawyers and agents. I don’t know where the money should best come from to ensure there are no political or personal vendettas, but from people who need the money to survive if they mess up would be fine with me.

I am stunned a Brooklyn jury did that. The persecution case against him must have been so patently obvious even the most ardent leftist jurors were taken aback.

I think this is somewhat of a harbinger of the ass-whupping Democrats are facing come November 8th. Even with their cheating.

Loser pays - good enough for civil matters, good enough for criminal charges.

Perhaps there are many ordinary citizens who would be totally pissed off about wasting time on a jury for some of these cases.

Original bail for the guy was 250 million

Leftie press had a heyday when he was charged. "The walls are closing in!" etc.

Every now and then the RAT “judges” allow Trump to win one so their bias doesn’t appear quite so obvious.

The FBI was up to their eyeballs with this case.

The ONLY REASON they went after him with these bogus charges was his connection to Trump.

The process is the punishment.

It still cost him hundreds of thousands in court costs and lawyer fees.

Prosecutors should be subjected to loser pays.
