Exactly, $1.5 billion is being spent by the West to directly run and pay the Ukie government, additional for weapons. Ukraine has been reduced to a beggar, welfare nation, now incapable of even running a post war society.
Hopefully, Vlad can bring Ukraine into 80 percent darkness, now at 45 percent dark. The sooner, the better, the quicker the corrupted little beggar Zelensky gets negotiating….which is coming sooner than later judging by the millions more now leaving Ukraine due to lack of electricity.
Let’s hope the Ukies can read the writing on the wall, before they hit 80 percent darkness….do recall collapsing, destroyed economies have brought down far more governments than the battlefield.

Actually, the West can and is doing something about it.
The Russian economy is severely withering. Absent Western present, there is no real Russia. They can’t make anything. They had to go to Kim Jong Un for artillery shells and some troops. Their gas sales are diminished severly. Their crude/oil sales are diminished severely.
Their military is incapable of maintaining the war on the ground. The Russian war effort is surviving by committing war crimes killing people and private property using Iranian drones.
Their command and control is severely diminished because commanders forgot the Number 1 Rule for commaned..... stay alive.
