Carville: Dems Should Have Lost 57 Seats – Trump Is Reason We Didn’t
Breitbart ^ | 11/09/2022 | Pam Key

Posted on 11/09/2022 8:12:48 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

Democratic consultant and political commentator James Carville said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that former President Donald Trump was the reason Democrats did not lose up to 57 seats in the House of Representatives.

Co-host Joe Scarborough asked, “But James, you know, this is just the ebb and flow of politics. Bill Clinton wins big in ’92. Idiots like me get elected in ’94. Obama wins massively in ’08. The Tea Party wins in ’10. Could you explain to people who don’t know politics as well as you how historic last night was?”

Carville said, “I’m going try. If you put everything in the computer, we should have lost 57 seats. The reason is Donald Trump. He brought people out to vote against this. He had a suppressive effect. He out trumped inflation and crime. He out-trumped the normal cycle of the first off-year election with an incumbent president. When political historians unearth this, they are going to find more we missed this morning.

“Not just Trump”

No, but a significant contributing factor.

Nah, 100,000s of mail in ballots that you created is why you won.

Trump wins regardless but it happens on Friday night when Joe Biden is overseas and the public doesn’t pay attention to the news.

51 US Senate seats with a majority in the US House IMHO.

I’ve been reading way too many ”dump Trump” comments this morning. Lots of Freepers are mighty bitter about the results and they are blaming Trump.

Ergo, they must agree with Banjo Boy.

My kneejerk reaction is to reject Carvill straight out of hand.

But for the sake of argument, and perhaps a little introspection, what if he is right?

When I brought up how absolutely ludicrous it was to think that dopey Joe Biden got 81 million votes in 2020 with certain family members, their reaction was that Biden didn’t motivate people that much, Trump did. Their proposition was that as fervent as Trump fans are, the Trump haters are also strongly motivated.

So what if T.D.S. actually trickles down to races nationwide, even when Trump isn’t on any ballot?
Is that really possible?

Is there not ONE honest Democrat that will object to massive vote fraud?

Maybe not all these ballots were “created.” Maybe they were delivered to unmotivated, low information voters and told to vote dem?

Maybe the GOP should start doing the same.

Trump didn’t run these MAGA candidates campaigns who lost. It’s not his fault.

Complete BS.

The redistricting that has occurred (on both sides) has greatly reduced the number of competitive seats. This cycle, only about three dozen seats were deemed to be competitive. How do you get to 57 from 36 (or so)?

I think Republican voters are lethargic and not motivated.
part of it is an ununified party with RINO’s undermining conservatives, and most of it is a lack of tangible accomplishments from GOP leaders and progress for their constituents.

Name be a major accomplishment in the area of school reform?

Or how about the border crisis?

Or crime?

Granted much comes at the state level, but leadership comes from party leaders at all levels.

No.

Biden with his Labor Day Demonic speech, the Democrat Party and MSM successfully defined being a Republican as being fascist and anti-democracy. Get used to losing.

On one thing. The aim is to get back in power. Only then can things be changed.

If Trump is the nominee, I’ll gladly vote for him.
