President Joe Biden on Thursday defended his economic policies as data showed consumer prices continued to climb in October.
“It will take time to get inflation back to normal levels – and we could see setbacks along the way – but we will keep at it and help families with the cost of living,” Biden said in a statement.
The Labor Department’s consumer price index rose by 0.4 percent from September. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is up 7.7 percent year-over-year.
Food prices at home rose 0.4 percent in October, which is lower than the 0.7 rate in August and September but still rising.
Biden spun the news as positive, declaring the it was “a much-needed break in inflation at the grocery store as we head into the holidays.”

Why should we trust somebody who was slow to even acknowllege inflation when it was well underway to predict its future course?

Helping families with the cost of living means the government will be spending more money, which is inflationary.
It’s not a break in inflation. It’s a slowing of the rate of increase.
And prices will not be going down.
About the same time it will take biden to get back to normal.

Solved the moment he ahd his party are relegated to the dustbin of history.
The new normal: inflation bleeds you until you have to choose between food, gas, and keeping your home at a comfortable temperature.
Transitory inflation....NOT.
A significant factor in our high inflation is that Biden eliminated our energy industry. Unless he revives it immediately, he shows how insincere he is regarding his desire to bring down the inflation. Biden could care less for America and its people. He acts like a foreign agent.
Many of us will NOT live that long.
and if you keep spending and giving money out to people to “help” it will take even longer!
The sad part is that 4 gas and 6 dollar diesel did not translate into the election outcome I expected.
When it comes to the states of New York and Pennsylvania, for starters, I don’t give a damn. Your states, and many others, voted for this.
That is because it is hard to beat millions of extra harvested ballots. This will happen again in 2024, so get used to it.
