GOP starts boosting Walker in runoff amid calls to keep Trump away from Georgia
NBC ^

The head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee pledged Wednesday to raise whatever money he can and begin an advertising blitz this week for Herschel Walker’s runoff in Georgia against Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock.

But there’s one aspect Sen. Rick Scott of Florida won’t weigh in on: whether former President Donald Trump should stay out of the Dec. 6 runoff.

GOP insiders faulted Trump, who has had a toxic relationship with popular Republican Gov. Brian Kemp even though he endorsed him the day before his re-election, for costing the party control of the Senate in two simultaneous runoffs last year, after Trump lost his re-election bid to President Joe Biden and then advanced false conspiracy theories about voting that led many Republican voters in Georgia to stay home.

Warnock won his race against Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler, and Sen. Jon Ossoff defeated GOP incumbent David Perdue, swinging control of the narrowly divided Senate to the Democrats.

Now — after both sides have spent more than $200 million in this year's Senate race — Warnock is in another runoff. And it once again could decide the balance of power in the Senate.

Republican leaders don’t want a repeat of the 2021 runoff, especially now that Trump has teased a "big announcement" Tuesday, when he is widely expected to officially declare another White House bid. But Scott is staying mum on the Trump question.

“That’ll be a decision between Herschel and Trump. I know that Trump wants to be helpful to make Herschel win. That’s an issue for the campaign. I don’t get to participate in those decisions,” said Scott, who is in charge of getting Republicans elected as chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Oh fecal brown stuff!
If the National Republican Senatorial Committee is charging in, Walker is done. Dun. Finished. Toast.

That is the same bunch that stabbed Master and Bolduc in the back because they are MAGA and Herschel Wakler is sorta MAGA.

Walker needs to look like his own man. Trumpmtold folks at a rally that JD kissed his ass. Ryan used that against him with great effect. It was all folks talked about with Ryan’s commercial “Ohio needs an ass kicker not an ass kisser.”

As usual, do the EXACT OPPOSITE of what the RINOs say.

Firstly, because they’re corrupt assistant Democrats.

Secondly, because they are incompetent fools who don’t understand, and who actively despise their own voting base.

The voters in Georgia WILL turn out for Trump. They don’t turn out when the RINO Establishment screws Trump (and them) over. The Trump voter largely did not show up to vote in the midterms. That’s why there wasn’t a massive red wave. They did turn out in the 2018 midterms after Trump campaigned hard for Senate candidates. That’s why the Republicans picked up 3 Senate seats.

A Trump-DeSantis ticket would be ideal.

Where was the GOP leadership prior to Tuesday’s election? They were vilifying Walker and letting the media set the narrative that he is ignorant and unqualified. Trump is the reason the race is even close enough for a run-off. The GOPe gave Walker practically no support.

“The “popular Republican Governor, Brian Kemp””

It was just two or three years ago when republicans booed Kemp out of the room...wouldn’t let him speak.

The Republicans are not to be trusted… ever. Everything they promised since Reagan, Trump delivered on. Good Lord how quickly we forget. People who naysay against Trump now can kiss my Lilly white butt. Trump CREATED DESANTIS.

Walker is learning the ways of RINO DC.

It is being put to him that he has to leave the person who brought him to the dance, at the dance, if he wants a ride home.

This is how they operate. People carry on about unity and all that jazz, but the RINOs have been backstabbing anyone who steps outside their box of tax cuts for elites, perpetual foreign wars, raising the age on SS for years.

They are good at lip service at election time but are usually the guys that lose after people realize what poltroons they had to vote for. These people are only vicious when it comes to ruining people in their own party.

They are back and I will not waste any time voting for losers who are only there to accumulate personal wealth while abetting and aiding democrats.

:: We need a fresh start with Desantis or Abbott. ::

You are repeating the media wishful thinking.

When Texas was in danger of turning “purple”, the MEDIA started floating the idea of Abbott moving on to POTUS (where he would have failed miserably, at the time).
He declined and Texas has remained red.

Now, the MEDIA wants DeSantis to leave FLA so they can start turning it blue utilizing all those stealth Yankee voters that moved South.
It’s an old playbook.

It’s Friday after a national election...nothing has changed.
Nothing WILL change until Jan 3.
Don’t be a cheerleader for the MEDIA.

All you say is true. Do you think it somehow exonerates Kemp? I don’t. He is Gretchen Whitmer of the south. Corrupt deals to stay in power. If Kemp wanted to fight what you are describing, he would be cleaning up elections in Georgia.

I think you are letting the leadership off easy. Kemp is not part of the solution, he’s part of the problem.

The demonkraps strategy was making mid-terms about Trump. That’s why they were flummoxed right up to the end especially that the January 6th hoax political inquisition had no effect where crime, inflation, empty shelves and car lots, high mortgage rates are destroying retirees and working people.

Maybe I did not pay attention ... throughout the 2022 season when Trump was bashing the demonkraps about all their great failures, crime, inflation, etc etc and media mostly ignored him. They even ignored the major facts that Durham produced on the greatest crime against a candidate and a sitting POTUS. But whenever he made statements about personalities like he was in Hollywood ... e.g. Mitch being a loser ... the media was there. And he made some statement in the past week that all of us keyboard political experts would have advised him not to make, to stay low. And instead of reporting anything else he said at his rallies in the past week, the media has everybody focused on Trump’s personality bashing, self-bragging, and blaming Trump for election failure mostly gerrymandered results in the House, and a Senate where states will not put a GOP candidate in the office.

Many people here are beginning to doubt instead of recognizing the power of the media to shape what we think, what we talk about, and who we need to pick for GOP nominee. Will Trump run? Will he get the nomination? I don’t know. But what I do know is that his enemies just need to undermine Trump’s base support and he is finished. I do know Trump isn’t a politician - I don’t expect him to be one either. But what I do know is he has something in common with all politicians - big egos. Wait til gas is at $6/gallon in 2024 and if it’s Trump vs Xiden, no one will remember his comments this week.

I would much prefer real Republicans, but the party chose to nominate grifters and lunatics.

Trump won 95% of his list. The DC elite, McConnel and fellow cadre, did not do nearly so well. In fact, they are directly to blame for every major loss. Their fingerprints are all over the lost jewels, not Trump’s.

Trump doesn’t have to be in Georgia to help Walker. He could do it from out of state.
