Cotton on Trump: Republicans ‘Don’t Have a Single Leader’
Breitbart ^ | 13 Nov 2022 | PAM KEY

Posted on 11/13/2022 11:02:31 AM PST by conservative98

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that the Republican Party does not have a single leader when asked if former President Donald Trump should remain as the head of the GOP.

Partial transcript as follows:

[cut]

BRENNAN: Sure, but you lost the ballgame in the Senate. Karl Rove blamed...Should Mr. Trump remain the leader of the Republican Party?

COTTON: Well, Margaret, when the party- when any party is out of power, as Republicans are now, we don’t have a single leader. The former president is obviously very popular with many of our voters–

BRENNAN: He’s the center of gravity.

COTTON: But we also have important other leaders as well, like some of those victors I just mentioned earlier, like Brian Kemp in Georgia, Ron DeSantis in Florida. Last year, you had Glen Younkin have a great victory in a bluish democratic state like Virginia. I hope to remain a leader in the United States Senate as well, in addition to people like some of those I just mentioned who were reelected, like Tim Scott. So, when you’re in opposition, you don’t have a single leader.

BRENNAN: Should leadership elections in the Senate be delayed until December, and should Mitch McConnell remain as Republican leader in the Senate?

COTTON: Well, I don’t see why we would delay the election, since all five or six of our leadership elections are uncontested. You know, the great wrestling champion Ric Flair used to say, to be the man, you got to beat the man. And so far, no one’s had the nerve to step forward and challenge Senator McConnell. So, I support Senator McConnell.

What do we lose by scrapping the Republican party?

You won't be scrapping the Republican party. If all the hardcore Trump supporters left the Republican Party, there would still be a lot of people left. You'd end up with a MAGA party, a Republican Party, and a Democrat party. And the last one would win every single election.

Where has Tom Cotton been on the Election Theft of 2020? How about his stance on the DC Gitmo and over 800 of our fellow citizens being held as Political Prisoners? Any word from him on this latest 2022 Election Theft?

His silence is deafening.

Translation:

We lost on purpose to get Trump out.

What does that have to do with his point about the Republican Party lacking a unified leader? Seems to me extremely difficult to argue against it.

The sooner we start over, the faster we’ll be winning.

Exactly. And with new leaders, not Trump. He's finished.

Apparently that is nothing but a pipe-dream we have been led to believe is the reality. The reality is that the republican party will soon have no voter base that will enable them to win any election ever again. They do nothing about election fraud, so we either might as well start our own party, or just stay home.

.
The worst part is the Senate Republicans only wanted to Investigate Trump when they were in power, and they refused to enforce a single subpoena to protect Joe Biden and usher him into the Presidency.

I never trusted Cotton since he went to that lavish conference
on an island off the coast of Georgia with uber RINOs like Paul Ryan to plot to sabotage Trump.

And quit whining. Turns voters off. No whining in Florida.

I just sent him a email.

Senator Cotton,

You have always been one of my favorite senators that stand for conservative values. I would like to think you still are.

However today you said that you will still vote for McConnell to lead the minority in the Senate. REMEMBER it is " WE THE PEOPLE" that you represent!!!!

I can assure you "WE THE PEOPLE" are more than dissatisfied with Mitch McConnells' leadership or lack there of... !!!

If we had the power to vote as citizens, on that office, we would vote him down in a heart beat!! I think I speak for the MAJORITY of Republicans.

As a life long Republican , 81 years old now, I would say that the party is losing it's way and may be irrelevant before long. Another party may need to rise up if you as our Republican Senators do not listen to us.

Tired of Business as usual.
