Wouldn’t it be better if it were Der? Or Das?

Does German now have 57 articles?

“Very little of it is going to where it was promised”

Oh, I think the money is going exactly where it was promised. Into the back pockets of politicians in Ukraine, the US, etc.

As long as 10% goes to the Big Guy, all is well.

There have long been rumors that top Ukranian officials and Oligarchs are driving away in fancy cars loaded with US cash. In addition, military equipment, weapons are being sold to the highest bidders while still in their shipping crates. I don’t know if this is true, but sadly, by their own admission, neither does US officials. We know that the Ukrainian government is crooked - maybe as crooked as ours- and imprisons political opposition leaders and is far from “democratic”......US Bio-labs anyone???? It would be great to have a free and functional press.

Good Edumacation, High per capita income, no shortage of gunz behind the door. Strong sense of identification with the country.

Self governence.

Having never been there, I’d guess strong individualism, personal liberty and personal responsibility. Innovativeness, artistry valued.

Definitely good skiing and a general availability and embrace of outdoor adventure.

Embrace of high tech and entrepreneurship.

Probably much more if I gave it more thought.

I’ve been there a few times. It’s very expensive. The country has a lot of natural beauty, and it’s very clean. The cities are a far cry from San Francisco or L.A. or NYC, as the Swiss are never going to let criminally insane crazies rule the streets. The food is good, but expensive. The country is well-governed, the roads are in good repair and the trains run on time. The women are attractive, but it’s like France where a lot of them smoke cigarettes, if that bothers you. It’s not a place where your dollars go far with respect to anything, so I wouldn’t recommend trying to retire there unless you’re already very wealthy.

Smoking [hot?] women are more svelte.

It does seem to be a very expensive place. Combined with learning new languages and the PITA that moving is, I’m going to continue living out my days in deep flyover country.

Plus it doesn’t seem to be a place where we could get back into fracking...[And the surfing is lame & 80mph speed limits work well for me.]
