Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that former President Donald Trump “violated multiple criminal laws.”
Anchor Jake Tapper said, “You’re a former federal prosecutor before you became a member of Congress. Do you think the evidence is there that Donald Trump committed any of the crimes I just mentioned and that the cases are prosecutable, that you could get a conviction?”
Schiff said, “I think that the evidence is there that Donald Trump committed criminal offenses in connection with his efforts to overturn the election. Viewing it as a former prosecutor, I think there’s sufficient evidence to charge the president.”

Does the House actually have the Constitutional authority to make a criminal referral to the DOJ?
The only ‘crime’ he committed, as far as I can tell, was to not hire/appoint to his administration only people from entirely outside government.

Only one of Trump’s appointments mattered - Sessions for AG and it was catastrophic! Sessions’s failure to do his job opened the door for everything else. I say Sessions’s failure set the stage for Trump not having a second term.

Coming from the same pathological liar that claimed to have irrefutable evidence that the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians to steal the election which of course was false. I can’t understand why people keep voting liars like Shiff into power.

The reason why is that the ones they have won’t hold water. They tried this twice while Trump was still POTUS and both failed miserably. There is no question in my mind that if there was evidence to back any sort of charge they would have released it before the midterm. Now they are in a put up or shut up situation as Trump has said he will run and this dog and pony show is for trying to stop him from gaining a possibility at the oval office again. There is no other advantage they can get from this as it is alienating possible votes because it is going too long and is not gaining momentum.
And that will cause it to backfire on them in two years as the public loses interest without anything other than the bill comes from it. They have even screwed up and are going against their playbook written by Saul Alinsky.
