I think they’d like to have D.O.J. charge Trump with crimes. If people have been held in jail for two years without bail for the act of walking through the Capitol, what makes anyone think that Trump would not be locked up until his trial before a DC jury?

If they think they can get away with it without provoking a far more serious ‘insurrection’, they’ll do it. Any objection will be treated as sedition and or insurrection agains ‘the rule of law’. After all, they got away with the FBI raid on Trump’s home.
