The bitter cold accompanying this powerful winter storm broke some long-standing record lows for parts of Montana and Wyoming. Casper, Wyoming, saw its coldest day ever on Thursday as temps plummeted to a bone-chilling 42 degrees F below. It was also a Casper record for Dec. 22, with the old record of 33 below set in 1983. Other areas breaking records Thursday included Riverton, Wyoming, which dropped to 31 degrees below, shattering a 24-year record.

I'm sure the press will pick up on how much the records were shattered by (yeah, right).
Our entire North Idaho Fall broke records for low temps. The old average temperature for Fall was 35F; this year it was 33F. Two degrees average temperature drop for a three-month season is a huge drop!
DAMN THAT GLOBAL WARMING!

They’re leaving “wind” out of the equation...
We’re in the Cody area and got down to -32 yesterday. It was much warmer this morning at -20 and right now it’s a perfect zero!
Beat me to it. It’s now “climate change”. What a crock.
I don’t miss winter at all.
This severe cold happened because we don’t have enough windmills, electric vehicles, and solar panels.

When I was in college I became very worried about “global warming” and I read a lot about it. This was in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
NONE of their predictions have come true. Not one. Their science is completely corrupt and it has never been supported by the data. Follow the $$$$.
I wonder how many people were using a 50/50 antifreeze mix in their cars?
I hate that “wind chill” or, as Accuweather calls it, “Real Feel.”
Who cares about that squishy number? I’m all bundled up and only my cheeks get the wind chill. Besides, there’ll often be no wind here, so there’s no wind chill. Or we’ll get a howler and the wind chill is far lower than what AccuWeather says.
Just give me the plain old, unvarnished, honest air temperature.
The funny thing is that the wind chill they report makes it seem far colder than it really is which runs contrary to their Global Warming / Earth On FIRE!! hysteria.
I note that Yellowstone had the worst cold temps, breaking (recent) records. Mother Nature spewing toxic gases into the air from the volcanic park had no effect in warming up things. So much (in comparison) for feeble human attempts to rein in CO2 emissions to change the weather.
Now that’s a really good question. Will there be a big run today on engine block freeze plugs? Or replacement engine blocks?

WORSE——How many were not diluting ANY of their anti-freeze???
Used to bet people in Wisconsin bars that anti freeze would freeze. Straight anti freeze freezes very well in ice cube rays.
