New York lawmakers are now officially the highest paid state legislators in the land after they awarded themselves a massive pay raise.
Members of both houses, 63 senators and 150 Assembly members, are getting a pay boost of $32,000 for a new base salary of $142,000, under a bill Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a day before her inauguration Sunday.

I just hope they don’t decide that now, paying this scum a huge raise, it’s time to monkey around with retirees’ pensions.

That’s impressive dough, especially for the ones that live outside the super expensive areas. Here in Indiana the legislator salary is $28 grand/yr. (It’s a part time “citizen” legislature.)
30%?! so say $150,000 jumps to $195,000?! They need to cover the cost of their self inflicted inflation.

Even with Silverman gone, I will assume it is still the most corrupt statehouse. The pay raise is to ensure the pigs still control the farm and browbeat any opposition.
It’s to ensure they keep their mouths shut.
The public will have momentary outrage, then go back to watching the kardashians.

I know The NY legislature was self serving mad I recently heard a story how bad it got. A decent upstate man was new and saw what was passed in an appropriation bill and was upset it was unconstitutional. He confronted some other house members about how wrong this was and they laughed and told him “1 and 5.” They explained that to change it would take one million dollars and five year of litigation to change it and by that time they would get their way and who then would care.
If that were the case Deep State wouldn’t have to steal elections.

They do it openly now. Anyone with half a brain sees it happen. Consequences? None.
Some people are too busy making a living. Some people “aren’t political”, some people don’t care, then there are those that support it because they think government is their savior.
If people cared, the crop of scum in the NY state legislature would have no chance at re-election.
