Eric Adams Heads to Mexican Border, as the Migrant Crisis Continues
NYTimes ^ | 01/14/2023

Mayor Eric Adams is traveling from New York City to El Paso on Saturday to visit the border amid a crisis in which thousands of migrants from Latin America have been bused to the north.

The trip comes one day after Mr. Adams said he expected the influx of migrants to cost the city as much as $2 billion — significantly higher than previous estimates. The price tag could be “anywhere from $1.5 billion to $2 billion,” he told Caribbean Power Jam Radio on Friday. Previously, in November, as the stream of migrants into the city slowed, Mr. Adams said it would not cost the city $1 billion as had been initially feared, thanks to federal aid.

The costs associated with taking in so many migrants could exacerbate the potential budget shortfall the city is facing, Mr. Adams said.

“That money comes from our schools,” Mr. Adams said. “It comes from our public safety, our hospitals, our infrastructure.”

“Those are our tax dollars that it’s coming from,” he added.

The details of Mr. Adams’s one-night trip, announced late Friday afternoon with few specifics, were not immediately clear. His office said he was expected to make “multiple stops at and near the U.S. southern border as New York City continues to face an unprecedented influx of asylum seekers.” He plans to speak to reporters on Sunday.

Is Adams going to take some back with him or is he going to send them to help search for Biden classified documents?

“That money comes from our schools,” Mr. Adams said. “It comes from our public safety, our hospitals, our infrastructure.” It costs Texas and Arizona 25 billion. Perhaps he should phone his buddy Brandon.

With respect Mr. Mayor, if it’s only costing you 2 billion dollars, then you really aren’t taking proper and sufficient care of them. You really need to at least double your spending budget on your newcomer friends. Anything less is an act of aggression.

What??? New York is not welcoming the poor and downtrodden any more?

It has been a Sanctuary City since 2014. I guess the liberals there don't like the smelly, brown people any more, just like their friends over on Martha's Vineyard.

In late 2014, Mayor Bill de Blasio signed two bills into law that significantly reduced the degree to which city officials would cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. Introductions 486-A and 487-A ended the city’s cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer requests, except in situations where an individual has been convicted of a violent crime. The bills also ended the presence of federal immigration officials at Rikers Island and all other city-run facilities. The city is home to more than 500,000 undocumented residents, according to recent estimates. It was included in a 2018 Justice Department letter demanding documentation about whether the city was violating U.S. Code 1373.
Maybe if NYC was cooperating with the Feds they could remove the illegals.

Adams is as tone-deaf and hypocritical as Jill Biden paying homage at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Protectress of the Unborn.

“We’re going to patronize nightlife, every night finding a new place to eat at da border,” Adams tells the Post. “

Adams is about brain deficient as Slow Joe ... the couple billion would be better spent on the wall rather than repeatedly financing the invader thieves.

Probably is. Apparently, they think El Paso is the only place in Texas where illegals come in.

We tried to tell these asshats twenty years ago when they were all so proud to proclaim “sanctuary city” status. Reality is a bitch, embrace the suck.
