Trump touts Pence as ‘honorable man’ in light of special counsel subpoena

Former President Trump touted former Vice President Mike Pence as an “honorable man” on Friday, following reports that Pence had received a subpoena from the Department of Justice’s special counsel investigating Trump on multiple fronts.

“Mike Pence is an honorable man,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News Digital on Friday.

Trump’s remarks come one day after reports emerged that Special Counsel Jack Smith had subpoenaed his former vice president.

Smith was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland in November to oversee the Justice Department’s investigations into the former president, including his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol and his handling of classified materials.

Trump will go down saying nice things about people who stabbed him in the back. Some things just don’t appear to be changing.

He is odd that way. It seems that once Donald Trump has spent some period of time enjoying your presence, admiring your talents or benefiting businesswise from your leadership, he remains forever just one feigned frown away from being your friend once again. I don’t know how else to put it.

Maybe when you become that rich, you decide to expect the best from anybody once they have proven themselves capable.
You remain flexible in loyalty or displays thereof.

I think The Donald even remains friends with the Clintons to this very day, in spite of the collection of those firey hells Hilary has put him through. While president, Trump refused to ‘Lock Her Up’! He couldn’t bring himself to actually do it. At one time, the families were very close.
So he thought.

Mark Anthony used the exact same description of the senators who stabbed Julius Caesar in the Shakespearean play about him.

Trump taking the high road while trashing DeSantis.

Are we - and have we been - being played, folks?

so basically in Trumps world, Gov. DeSantis is a groomer, while Pontius Pence is a hero.

thank God i got off two years ago. it’s better not to care what he does or says. saves on the hair.

The whole idea that somehow Pence could stop the electoral vote was nonsense from the jump. Pence is a milquetoast, but not a traitor.

Trump trying to build a big tent I guess, but he should go ahead and leave Judas Pence out in the cold.

It’s not popular for some here on FR, but Trump trashing DeSantis may well cost him the election. I can’t say that about another potential rival in the primary. It has the potential to get really nasty (DeSantis is pretty chippy too).

Trump trashing Pence would not cost him the election, but its still not a good look.

Either way it simply reinforces the negative image for those so inclined but I am not sure how much it moves the needle since Trump pretty much cemented his standing with the “Karens” long ago and the media filled in the cracks.

Trump will win the primary easily. I know some disagree with me, but he has the most loyal following among the right since Ronaldus Magnus. You cannot compete with it, outspend it, or buy it. In fact, if I were Trump I would go out of my way to be nice and simply take the primaries as the magnanimous victor and focus on the big show, but he is probably incapable of that.

DeSantis has a very loyal following. I know some of them and if even a small percentage of them stay home because Trump trashes their guy AND we don’t fix our elections (not likely) it could be the difference. If his behavior against a wildly popular governor turns off 20% of his electorate in Florida it is fatal.

On a positive note since I fully expect Trump to trash talk like he is Larry Bird on a basketball court here is the best news for Trump.

The hearings that Jim Jordan is holding with big tech may make a HUGE difference in the 2024 race. The latte leftist crowd of big tech execs are not enjoying their testimony or the threats (not likely to happen but legally it could) of prosecution for them monkeying around in the election(s) in collusion with the swamp creatures.

People are filing civil suits who were denied their 1st Amendment rights and censored either by the tech weenies themselves or at the request of government employees. This is ILLEGAL and remember that a “civil tort” is basically a 51% standard. A LOT of people have grounds to sue now and I suspect there are more than a few “preservation of document” requests being sent.

The impact of big tech on our last few elections was massive. While it might be impossible to put a % on what it cost Trump in the 2020 race or what it gave Biden, I am very confident it was more than enough needed to decide the race.
