Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) threatened to abolish a slew of federal agencies such as the FBI and the Justice Department, accusing top officials of using their government offices for political aims.
In a speech addressing supporters at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday, Gaetz defended his efforts to stall Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) speakership vote in January until House Republicans could negotiate some rules changes from the party leader. One such concession was the creation of a committee examining the “Weaponization of the Federal Government,” which was a key demand of several of McCarthy’s holdouts.
“It seems like every time I turn around, [federal agencies] engage in surveillance … or monitoring,” Gaetz said. “I don’t care if it takes every second of our time and every ounce of our energy. We either get this government back on our side, or we defund and get rid of — abolish the FBI, [the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention], [the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives], DOJ — every last one of them if they do not come to heel.”

Yes, the FBI should be completely eliminated. Put the FBI Lab with the US Marshalls. Outside of the DOD, no federal employee other than US Marshalls should be allowed to carry firearms. The Secret Service should be under the Marshalls.

While I understand your position, there are some fed LEOs who need to be armed. The US Border Patrol and Customs come to mind as their duties were enshrined in the constitution.
Why say the Interior Department, Educations Department, the IRS and USFS have swat teams bogles the mind.
It’s way past time there are Patriots in Congress a handful and my Republican Congressman a Deep State Kevin McCarthy Republican and that’s a nice way of putting it.
90 plus percent of elected Republican officials are ultimately Globalist Republicans and there are even stronger terms that can be applied to Republicans in the Romney-McConnell-Murkowski camp.
I’m with Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Paul Gosar Thomas Massie, Rand Paul etc. not with the Fellatio Friends of Big Business who supported McCarthy all the way for Speaker.
In practice it’s posturing because of lack of GOP control over the Senate & Presidency. If it threatened to become reality, you’d see who really supports it.
DHS is a monster they likely played a big role in J6 subordinate parts like Border Patrol need their independence from DHS again.
The head of DHS needs “the national razor” aka “La Guillotine”.
And by head I mean the controlling leadership and intelligence covert activities aimed at “extremists” domestically.
This really needs to happen. Defund them now. Political party shouldn’t be a qualification to collect a check from the FBI and DOJ.
Part of the FBI's problem is the extreme centralization that took place under Bush and Mueller. It was formalized as the Deep-State's political DC police force.
One simple change - Take away the FBI's guns. If it needs to take down a group of armed bad people, force them to coordinate with local police and their weapons, or the US Marshals.

They’re not constitutional anyways, at least not the FBI. The Founders were very vocally against a national police force. That’s definitely a local matter.
You have to realize that unless this situation is addressed then none of us have any hope of ever living a free life ever again in this country.
We have zero chance against the comprehensive technological and judicial yoke around our necks.
There are a couple of good senators who really took him to task and where he was forced to do his version of "I plead the fifth".
However, nobody mentioned that the DOJ and the FBI have illegal/criminal activities. Nobody asked for criminal investigations. Some of the republican senators went out of their way to say that Garland is a nice man and fair. C'mon man! Give me a break!!
It requires nothing more than control of the House to NOT provide funding.
