The Coalition for Trust in Health & Science today announced its formation and public launch during the 2023 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. The alliance was formed to unite leading organizations from across the entire health ecosystem to advance trust and factual science-based decision-making. The partnership aims to achieve a measurable increase in the public’s willingness – and ability – to access evidence-based information necessary to make the best personally appropriate health decisions for themselves, their families and the communities in which they live and work. Enhancing the perception and reality of the trustworthiness of the health and medical system is a key element of this goal.
“The United States is experiencing a tidal wave of misinformation and disinformation, which has real-world health impacts, such as preventable misery and deaths, and is escalating already dangerously high levels of mistrust and distrust in healthcare, public health and science,” said Reed Tuckson, M.D., convener of the Coalition for Trust in Health & Science. “Addressing this infodemic is fundamental to the values of the Coalition’s members and, together, we can and will make a positive impact on the health of individuals and the nation.”

The Lockdown Files have broadly called into question decision-making behind the Covid response — from lockdowns and school closures to social distancing and face masks — showing that “despite public claims to always ‘follow the science’, key decisions were made on the fly for political reasons”, The Telegraph writes...
In one set of messages, Mr Case and Mr Hancock mocked members of the public who were forced to isolate in “shoebox” quarantine hotels.
“I just want to see some of the faces of people coming out of first class and into a premier inn shoebox,” Mr Case wrote. “Any idea how many people we locked up in hotels yesterday?”
Mr Hancock replied, “None. But 149 chose to enter the country and are now in Quarantine Hotels due to their own free will!”
“Hilarious,” Mr Case wrote back.
The revelations have sparked outrage...
Mr Hancock resigned in disgrace in June 2021 after being caught on camera having an affair with an aide, in breach of his own Covid restrictions...
He later emerged as a controversial contestant on the Australian edition of I’m A Celebrity, claiming the money was not his “primary consideration” — despite the revelation he was paid £320,000 ($570,000) for the jungle stint.

These are the organizations pushing misinformation.

My doctor, attempting to convince me to take a covid shot, told of his patient literally dying with family gathered around. He said all the science and medical care couldn’t save him. I was listening to him, but about fell out of my chair when he said he weighed 450 pounds. I said, “WHAT? 450 pounds?” Thus ended the sermon for the day. I like my doctor, but that was a bridge a little too far.
