An Alabama fifth-grade girls' basketball team have been denied their championship trophy after being forced to join a boys' league - and then beating all their opponents.
Spain Park girls' team, from Hoover, Alabama, were reportedly told at the start of the season that they would not be able to train at the local gym facilities unless they joined the boys' league.
In response, they did exactly that and went on to win the championship - only to be told that the trophy would instead be handed to the runners-up that they'd just beaten in the final.

Bureaucrats really hate girls, don’t they?
How can they require the girls to join the boy’s league & then not honor the results? Something absolutely insane is going on in this world today.
Girls shouldn’t play the boys, even if they happen to be better. I don’t mean exhibition games or practice games. If a girl wants to practice with the boys, in order to be a better player, I have no problem with that.
However, in general, boys and girls sports should be kept separate.
They should have identified as trans.
You know there is more to this story.
#1 they were “forced” to join the boys league so they could, fairly, pay dues for the upkeep of the facility. No, it’s not free.
My guess, and too bad we don’t have real journalists, is that some of the girls were ineligible due to age or residency location.
In 5th grade, girls are bigger than boys the same age. Boys don’t catch up and pass them until high school.
Pre puberty competition is benign. In many situations it helps both sides develop. Girls often master fundamentals and techniques because they lack the strength and speed of boys, and girls are often taller at this point which helps boys train as well.
The sissification of American males is complete. No more “masculine toxicity”. It’s all feminine sissicity from here on out. Gabbing on the phone is the new number one American male hobby.
I betcha trans was on the boy’s team...

Yeah this story doesn’t make sense. It sounds like the league did them a favor so they could be accommodated by the gym. I don’t know why that would mean they should be formal members.
The girls should have t-shirts made up..

I violated the FR Prime Directive and read the article. The girls were from a competitive league and had been playing together for three years. Due to issues around practice facilities, they were moved to a boys recreational league so that they could continue to practice and compete together. Come tournament time, the girls were told they would not be awarded the trophy if they won. If they played in the season and tourney, I say give them the trophy or make better decisions at the start of the season.
That said, when I played basketball in middle school. We were terrible. Our girls team won their league championships over those years. We lost every game we played save one. We beat our girls basketball team, but it was uncomfortably close.
They even knew they wouldn’t get the trophy beforehand but played to win anyway. Good sports, good players, great attitude!
Because there is not enough girls for a girl league?

Emotionally and intellectually, however, girls are ahead at that age IMO.
