I'm sure there are valid reasons. The girls team is a travel team that had been together for three years and didn't go through the draft selection process to build the team. Rec teams typically require everyone that signs up gets picked and everyone plays a minimum amount of time. The girls team skipped that process entirely. One could say it was unfair to the boys for that reason. Anyway, the girls team was told before the season tournament that they could play in the championship but could not claim the championship, so it wasn't like this was just sprung on them after winning.
The article says the rec dept. will recognize the girls in some way and all will be fine. But really this is more a story about how bending one rule at the beginning of a process leveraged itself all the way down the line causing the Rec. dept a bad look for being accomodating.
No. Right is right and wrong is wrong.
Are you saying that we can have different opinions about right and wrong? Is there ever a time, for example, when it is permissible to rape a women?
I believe it is always wrong for boys to compete with girls, if you want them to grow up as men and women who cooperate with each other, because the ethicacy that you establish as young as possible is the ethicacy that they will practice when they become adults.
It is not about the worth of a person, because males and females fill different roles but are inherently not any different in value as people.
To otherwise is to create the propaganda that men and women can compete against each other without it spilling over into other parts of life, which is not true. People carry their values into all parts of life and do not turn them off in specific situations. Men and woman as competitors do not suddenly become cooperators when they marry each other, for example.
This can’t be real!
And it turns out there’s a lot more to the story.
The girls team was a “travel” team, in other words an all-star team. The boys teams were rec-league teams composed of all-comers, i.e. maladroits. Particularly given that the better boys players were already on travel teams of their own.
So an all-star team of fifth grade girls beat all-NON star team(s) of boys, in a tournament where the girls knew going in that because they were at a different competitive level, that they would not get the championship trophy.

In this instance, yes, we can have a difference of opinion in what is right and wrong. I see no issues with girls wrestling boys up to High School. After that, I believe the girls need to wrestle girls. The girls don’t catch “the trans” by wrestling boys and the boys don’t catch “the gay” by wrestling girls. Those two young ladies I mentioned earlier are the epitome of “girly girls.” What’s next? You gonna say girls shouldn’t be cops, firefighters, soldiers, sailors, MARINES, airmen or Coasties? I was in the navy for twenty years and served with females who competed with males in all aspects of shipboard life. War fighting, fire fighting, boat handling, weapons employment, navigation, rigging and everything else that goes with seeking promotion. No issues, with the exception of the occasional affair or breakup that wound up getting some folks in trouble for fraternizing. I disagree with you. That’s it. You don’t get the dub today. Deal with it and move on, just like I’m going to do.

Ridiculous. Men need to grow up to be cooperators together as well, though in dofferent ways—and playing fields are the place to learn that.
It is for the physical differences that for most serious sports require separate playing fields.

I think there is also a sociological aspect to my position as well. The reason in Western society why almost every male is now Milhouse, from the Simpsons, is because they never learned the necessity of competing. That is why, in almost every Western society, the males run away instead of standing up for themselves when they are challenged by aggressors. It’s why, in many cases, Western women go out with the aggressors. They find their own Western men highly unattractive.
Roughly 30 years ago feminists were aggressively pushing pre-puberty male vs female competition for children, I assumed that it had something to do with the developmental imprinting of boys getting beaten by girls for a few years, similar to the psychology of why the cross-dressers want to expose the children to their culture, it imprints them and affects their adult views and judgment.

Exactly. Whatever the left wants to do with children, you have to assume that they want that dynamic for them as adults. If one doesn’t believe that men and women should not compete with each other in life, they shouldn’t be teaching that dynamic to them as children. When I say that, I am not advocating for complete separation of men and women as there is room for games and skill learning and everything.
You could be correct in that it’s about conditioning men to be subject to women, as I’ve pointed out that today’s man is weak and unable to stand in the face of violence from aggressors, which is why Western women are choosing the aggressors over their own men.
As far as drag shows go, the children are being shown censored versions of what goes in real drag shows, from what I’ve been told. In real drag shows, the drag queen will grab poo from their behind and wipe it on patrons, sometimes it is eaten. It is extremely gross and they want that normalized. The left will up the grossness to condition people into thinking it’s normal.
They should get their trophy if required to join the league.
No one should be surprised that a stacked select team with three years of longevity won a rec league of rando 5th graders.
For going on 40 years our local school system has had adult recreation/open gym a couple of evenings a week. Every once in a blue moon a girl or two would show up, usually college aged and a good player. They were always accepted.
A dozen or so years ago, some women (not those who joined in with us) complained that "the men get the gym, why don't we?" So one of our b'ball nights suddenly became a women's volleyball night. Things went back to normal the following year; few times had enough women showed up to be able to play. Insufficient interest.
I’m not with you on cause, but the underlying pathology you describe is probably correct. (And women have always had a weakness for “bad boys”. I would guess that is evolutionary, as they by contrast more often settle down longer term with the more reliable good boys, if you will.)
