President Joe Biden issued his first veto on Monday, rejecting a bipartisan bill that would have reversed his Labor Department rule allowing left-wing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policies to be considered in retirement investing.
“I just vetoed my first bill,” Biden said in a tweet announcing the move.
“This bill would risk your retirement savings by making it illegal to consider risk factors MAGA House Republicans don’t like,” Biden claimed. “Your plan manager should be able to protect your hard-earned savings — whether Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene likes it or not.”

Notice how they can use innuendo and name-calling to powerful effect. This is a very potent tactic, and one why, despite catastrophic Democrat policies, half the country (including those that hate those policies) will never vote Republican.

House Republicans need to cut the Department of Labor out of the budget. I have zero problems with a fight that includes a full government shutdown. It is necessary to end this fiscal and regulatory lunacy.

It has to get to SCOTUS, he has no standing to implement this “rule” outside of congress.

Delegation was not supposed to be an enabling act for Executive branch end runs around Congress.

They would have to get 2/3 of Congress to override and it got nowhere near that, unfortunately.

Actually, it should not require a 2/3 majority to overturn an executive fiat loosely based on existing law. But lawyers have to get their cut.
