We home schooled and felt the need to be armed. Plenty of guns in our “school.”

Hopefully they will pass it and parents can get their kids out of failing schools. Then those schools will realize they have to answer for their failures.
The state is taking over Houston ISD. HISD says they have made improvements. That “improvement” was one school went from average grades of “f” to “d”. Probably by adding points to the students real scores.
I remember when my school integrated back in the 60’s the black kids that were making good grades were denigrated by their peers for trying to be like “whitey”
My neighbor is about to take their kids out of a local school that is going to a 4 day school week. Their son was being bullied by 2 boys and was suspended when he defended himself (oh, he only got one day suspension and they got 2).
IMO-—28 year old still living at home was a BIG RED FLAG—all by itself.
ALL that fencing should be used at a facility for the mentally unbalanced.

Now, you might think they should have been searching their home and her room, and you might be right, but they did not, and therefore did not know about her guns.

Could we start with bullet-proof entry doors? Our school entry doors are all glass. I have not checked to see if a bullet would shatter it. Usually the office is right next to these doors. Anyone in the entry office is vulnerable.
Correctly identify risks. That includes transgenders, but excludes psycho-babble like gender dysphoria. 1.5 million Americans don’t suddenly become mentally ill with “gender dysphoria”. There is something else at work here.
Every school, public and private, should be mandated to have a security threat assessment and be required to implement the recommendations. The Feds should take the money from Joe’s Ukrainian slush fund to pay for the upgrades.
It would be cheaper to have hardened entrances and exits than to pay wages and benefits. I would still hire a couple of security guards to roam the halls and to monitor video feeds and alarms.
