I’m reading GWTW to my wife for the second time (puts her to sleep). It makes me uncomfortable at points. Mammy and Pork are the worst with the N-word.
I read it on Kindle, and I often think how surprising it is that it hasn’t been bowdlerized by now. I imagine it will be.
In 50 or 100 years, when sanity returns to America (please, God!) what will they say about the early 2020s, I wonder?
Not my DVD copy. As I’ve said before, find old copies of these films and keep them safe for someday soon, the Left won’t let you watch them anymore.
That is a great line from one of my favorite alltime movies, although not as well known, I would replay over and over when Prissy said, “I don’t nuthin about birthin babies, Miss Scarlett”....

It’s a very enjoyable movie, and I do recall that line. That was probably Gable’s best roll. And that line is quoted often, as you have, over the past decades.
However I gotta disagree in that one has got to give a damn about what liberals think simply because they are running the country now in just about every major aspect and we are indeed heading straight for the gutter.

It's been a while since I've seen the movie. But as I recall, the main character, Starlet, was a procrastinating ditz (after all, tomorrow is another day), and Rhett was a swindling womanizer. The blacks were the only ones of noble character and smart enough to get things done.

I’ve been wondering when the powers-that-be would get around to destroying this very old movie, made in 1939.
I would suggest the US in current form...probably won’t be around in 2030.
