The warning over the latest edition describes the book containing 'shocking elements', including the 'romanticisation of a shocking era in our history'.

“In addition, historical fiction writer Philippa Gregory was commissioned to write a a new forward in the latest version, laying out the ‘white supremacist’ aspects of the book.”

I’m reading GWTW to my wife for the second time (puts her to sleep). It makes me uncomfortable at points. Mammy and Pork are the worst with the N-word.

I read it on Kindle, and I often think how surprising it is that it hasn’t been bowdlerized by now. I imagine it will be.

In 50 or 100 years, when sanity returns to America (please, God!) what will they say about the early 2020s, I wonder?

Not my DVD copy. As I’ve said before, find old copies of these films and keep them safe for someday soon, the Left won’t let you watch them anymore.

That is a great line from one of my favorite alltime movies, although not as well known, I would replay over and over when Prissy said, “I don’t nuthin about birthin babies, Miss Scarlett”....

Here’s the clip.

In at least one of Robert Heinlein's books (Time Enough For Love, probably) a character who appears in the future refers to the period from the 1960s on — until some undefined date — as "the Crazy Years."

“Frankly Scarlett, I don’t give a damn..... about what liberals think.”

It’s a very enjoyable movie, and I do recall that line. That was probably Gable’s best roll. And that line is quoted often, as you have, over the past decades.

However I gotta disagree in that one has got to give a damn about what liberals think simply because they are running the country now in just about every major aspect and we are indeed heading straight for the gutter.

“It makes me uncomfortable at points. Mammy and Pork are the worst with the N-word.”

Blacks use the N-word on a regular bases. Rap would not be possible without the N-word.

Knowing that, I can foresee that I will never approach the heights of purity that you have so easily attained.

Do you find it uncomfortable to live among us mere mortals?

The US, as presently constructed, will not be here in 100 years.

“Gone With The Wind II” will be about the death of the American Republic at the hands of “slow-wiitted” anti-racists (aka Brown hordes who hate White people).

This book will be a pamphlet secretly passed among the “underground.”

The book and movie are set in the Democrat controlled south during the civil war. There was slavery, a much worse situation than use of the n-word.

It's been a while since I've seen the movie. But as I recall, the main character, Starlet, was a procrastinating ditz (after all, tomorrow is another day), and Rhett was a swindling womanizer. The blacks were the only ones of noble character and smart enough to get things done.

I’ve been wondering when the powers-that-be would get around to destroying this very old movie, made in 1939.

I would suggest the US in current form...probably won’t be around in 2030.
