Obesity rates in the U.S. military surged during the coronavirus pandemic and its associated lockdowns, data released Sunday details.
AP reports in the Army alone, nearly 10,000 active duty soldiers developed obesity between February 2019 and June 2021, pushing the rate to nearly a quarter of the troops studied. Increases were seen in the U.S. Navy and the Marines, too.

People at the office call it quarantine/COVID pounds and laugh about it. Three years later and they are still fat. 🙄

I read the other day that the Army was going to start hiring fatties because “they want to serve their country TOO.” ROTFL!!! The Army is going to let them in and put them in REMF jobs. Kind of like getting a participation trophy for being fat.

Lockdowns fattened up the population and upped the comorbidities.

I'm SMDH...I was an HQ Battery Commander at Fort Bliss, 300+ soldiers, mostly clerks, and staff enlisted/NCOs. They were "mine" for an hour a day. 5 days a week, 20+ minutes of calisthenics and a two mile run in formation, led by me, of course.
My pass rate on the PT test was 98.5%, i.e. 5 failures out of 300. It's not that difficult.

A commander not focused on destructive CRT and killing his soldiers with a deadly vaccine could fix that in 2 weeks if he wasn’t a pussy… but because he already agreed to poison his troops he is a p word…. Why would he care if the person he poisoned was overweight.

Are the incorrectly using the term obesity to mean over weight?
I find it hard to believe anybody with a 40+ inch waist would escape intense scrutiny. Love handles would immediately get the attention of my supervision with an immediate "Fix it"...now!! A weekly weigh in, at the squadron orderly room, followed until it was fixed.

Let the Army start it’s weight reduction program with its fat-assed and Democrat butt-kissing chief of Staff.

America, the land of people rapidly getting dumber, lazier and fatter by the day.
Can’t even go shopping for themselves now. Constantly ordering crap online for someone else to deliver to them.
Pathetic.

If you don’t get the jabs, you can’t serve, but you can serve if you’re obese.

I doubt that the people at the top at the Pentagon and in the White House care. They've been trying to kill U.S. military readiness and this is just one more step towards that.
