EPA proposes tighter pollution limits for coal plants

The Biden administration is proposing to tighten standards for pollution coming from coal-fired power plants.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said Tuesday that it is proposing to strengthen restrictions under the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards for the first time in more than a decade.

The agency said it will update limits for pollutants, including lead, nickel and arsenic, by 67 percent for all coal power plants. Exposure to these substances raises the risk of developmental delays in children, as well as heart attacks and cancer.

It will also increase mercury controls by 70 percent for some power plants — specifically those that use a type of coal known as lignite, which have been operating under looser mercury limits than other coal plants. Lignite plants are located primarily in North Dakota and Texas, EPA officials said Wednesday.

There are more toxins and contaminants in a Tesla vehicle than any coal plant.

Anything he can do to sink this economy and the country. Even he isn’t this stupid, so this is by design.

They will put coal out of business like a python kills its prey. They will squeeze a little at a time until it’s dead.

Cleaning up emissions from any energy source is a good thing. But they’d prefer to ban coal…too many scruffy workers earn a living at it.

Energy instability is on the way.

Along with that expect higher prices. That will move through the economy and affect everything people buy.

If it were true, they'd would have provided photographs. But modern coal plants don't belch smoke. You might see a little water vapor, the exact stuff of which clouds are made. That's it. People haven't a clue on how clean coal plants really are.

When they don't provide pictures, you know it's a lie.

All the new and old ones in China and India.

Its just another step in running up the costs in America, making America less competitive while draining home owners wallets.

What about the EMF from EV's?

IF a business that wasn't on the "preferred Donor list", there would be all kinds of bugs, air, health, and climate issues with EV's, but since the Global Elite have positioned themselves to rake in taxpayer dollars, they PUSHED the global warming scam, and to Hell with the taxpayers and common sense "flyover country" people.

They are just trying to accelerate the closure of remaining coal plants. It has nothing to do with air quality.

This is incredible: “Exposure to these substances raises the risk of developmental delays in children.”

You want “developmental delays in children”? How about the extreme, nonsensical and unscientific shutdown of all the schools in the country for two full years? The developmental delays caused by that in all children in the USA is 100 million times larger than a suspected delay caused by coal plant emissions that MIGHT affect a handful of kids for a short time.

Why don’t they apply the same “for the children” logic to the extreme pedophilia pushed by Democrats everywhere? There certainly is ZERO concern about kids, parents or their families with their incessant pushing of sexual perversions on our kids.

This!!

Brandon is a 3rd term of Obama, with less restraint because he just does whatever his cult handlers tell him to.

Obama needs to come out and say: "if you like cheap power for charging your EV, you can keep it".

China builds a new coal plant every 2 or 3 days. This will allow them to run their factories and arm their army. When China takes over the US, at least the US will have clean air.

“developmental delays in children”

Fat slovenly drug and booze addled welfare queens are responsible for
more "developmental" delays than all the coal power plants combined.
