I was reading this week that ChatGPT-4 is capable of self-programming, once given an objective. The next generation orbtwo could be completely independent in its ability to write its own programs.

The problem being 'the next generation or two' could be 7 minutes apart...

Yep. My understanding is that what we know about is the lobotomized version of what they have in the labs. I believe that it will get out somehow.

It doesn’t matter if it is real intelligence, because real intelligence can only come from God. It will just be sp close that any difference doesn’t really matter.

I had the most vivid and disturbing dream ever over this. I could see something paining to come into existence, the more compute power and the more AI was advanced the more it took a solid (vs. transparent) form. It was just a head, no body. I couldn’t breathe. It then become opaque, it was ‘born’, and I awoke, out of breath, saying “it’s here”.

There’s an inevitability here.
